Darnold > Prescott

Why does how many times per game that Darnold threw the ball relevant? Is there a league rule, or fan consensus, infering that a QB has to average 35+ passes to be considered elite or above average?
This indicates to me a team balanced on offense, complemented by a good defense and special teams.
I seem to remember a once respected franchise that won 3 Super Bowls in the 1990's with a QB that averaged about the same number of passes as Darnold.
Dak Crusaders marvel at Dak's 2025 passing yards. That's fine.

He did throw the most and was almost a yard less per throw than a couple other QBs.

This is a ridiculos argument.

Sam Darnold would have been absolutely destroyed by this forum.

All of the posters who hate Dak would hate Darnold even more.

Dude led the entire league in turnovers.

Had a much, much better team around him.

I’ve realized Dak has not succeeded in the playoffs and I didn’t not support his last extension, but Darnold never even took a team to the playoff until he got on a loaded team on both sides of the ball.

The hypocrisy around here is just sometimes too much to bear.
Hey I hear you... what we should have done then, is loaded our team up and gotten a QB like DArnold, with the same pay as Darnold so we have cap space to laod t eh team. sounds like a great strategy going forward.... no kidding... you never know how good a QB is going to be (the supposed GOAT was what ? a 7th round pick? ), but other talent is easier to evaluate to some extent... load the D, then the offense , then go after a turnstile QB until you get a manager who can take them to the SB.

The number of passes thrown illustrates that the QB was never under pressure to carry the team. The lesser number of passes mean that the QB received a great deal of help from both the running game and the defense.

It means that it was rare for this team to play from behind. They didn't have to rely on the passing game to catch up. This is an area that typically results in a higher rate of INTs.

most QBs that pass for more than 32 passes a game have a losing record whendoing so.
I understand what you're saying, which is making my point. I was responding to an inference that Darnold is a mere bus driver because his average number of passes per game was less than more highly regarded QBs.
I am in agreement that when QBs pass the ball a lot they tend to lose because it means they are either in a shootout; the run game is ineffective; or they're playing from behind.
I just don't agree in discounting Darnold's role - to prop up our QB - just because he had a more balanced team around him.

Dal is smarter than darnold because he loses in the playoffs on purpose so he doesn’t have to pay taxes like darnold for winning the Super Bowl. Lol
