Talking of exciting interceptions, my memory remains clear about the 1981 season that should have been a Super Bowl year, when the starting four DB's snatched 30 INT's! Everson Walls, a free agent rookie CB had 11, Dennis Thurman had 9, free agent rookie free safety Michael Downs had 7, and Charlie Waters at SS had 3. The Boys grabbed a team record 37 INT's overall that year. The opposing QB's had a hard time seeing downfield, as the Boys had 6"9" Too Tall Jones (with the NFL's largest wingspan ever) at LDE and 6'7" John Dutton at LDT, with 6'5" Harvey Martin the speed rusher at RDE, and the Manster Randy White collapsing the pocket, or barging his way through it at RDT. On offense, Tony Dorsett led the way with 1646 yards rushing (4.8 per attempt) and averaged 10.2 yards per catch. Tony Hill averaged 20.7 yards per catch.
