DaRon Bland getting ready for Year 4

SEEN IT ALL BEFORE who cares it's what they're supposed to be doing!! Do all this and get injured for how many weeks

Do they sign Bland or not? I have a feeling they are letting him walk after this year.

This is just an example of how fleeting a team's strengths can be.

I was so excited for last season to begin because we had two 1st team All Pro CBs lined up. They started one game together.

The other strength was their pass rush with both Lawrence and Parsons backed up by Sam Williams. We lost all three after 4 games and Parsons was the only one to come back.

Bland struggled for this reason which begs the question, was his 2023 record season of five INT return TD's more a product of those around him?

Year 3 was very bad. Hopefully he was just rusty from being out
you mean rusty like coming off an injury into a brand new offense. With everything collapsing around him like who you're playing with was mostly a practice squad on defense for a long time kind of hard to do your job when everything else is imploding around you so yes he has reasons why he may not have been his best just like the others it's kinda hard right everyone had one of two years last year seems like convenient to get critical of players but it is the sum of the whole...

So much went wrong last year like in 2020 it's hard to judge any of them you gotta all reset and restart for this year....

Right now Dallas has two CB's that I would put up an pair in the NFL over the next 5 seasons. Keep them that way!

That is a dominance element in today's NFL. That is an arena to protect into it's future.

I think that's just what this is all about this thread I think that he's going to have to have a bounce back here a rubber year,

you know I think it's more of a chance Trayvon Diggs isn't on this team in 2026 and bland does get his money..

that's how it works, you let one contract go you can sign another at the same position,

I think Diggs is going to have to also prove it this year, but given the weakness of this position bland is in strong position right now to stay on this team they all played poorly last year because the entire team had issues all around them and it's kind of hard to judge players individually by how bad things were about the roster..

the guys playing next to them brand new defense A 1 year lame duck defensive coordinator trying to install his stuff without his players with all these injuries it was crazy... so it's crazy to say he might not be here anymore than Digg's probably not going to make this team in 2026 if he doesn't have a bounce back here...

This is why my surprise or dark horse pick at #12 or trade down few spots , pick up a 3rd/4TH the first-round pick is going to be a corner like Will Johnson MICHIGAN(uh oh

) I'm not saying 100% but I think it's the weakest position on the team given Butler and Diggs are out because of injury and we don't really have any veterans yet we have 5 months to add Gilmore or somebody like him, but I believe the draft is going to be a surprise in the first round because it's going to be a corner or they'll find a way in the second round to get a guy like Barron might be there..

So many mocks have wide receiver defensive end and running back in the first 3 rounds. but i see CB jumping in there..

That might be true but they're both gonna have to have a bounce back year and come back strong or I can see diggs not being on this team in 2026 if he has another down year, or gets injured again, that's it..

Contract years are usually when you get a guys best. Make him play for his extension. If by week 5 he's ballin, pay him.

If healthy, he's a dawg.
He was intimidated playing dk Metcalf so much that Gilmore had to save him AND was accused by Bengals coaches of being scared of Chase. He's not a "dawg" he's a 2 that needs to be next to a real dawg but unfortunately his running mate is even more soft/timid

The Dallas Cowboys were dealt one injury blow after another during the 2024 season. The loss of quarterback Dak Prescott dominated the headlines but they spent 10 games without DaRon Bland, who broke out in 2023.

Bland finally returned to the field in Week 12 but that's when Trevon Diggs started to miss time. The two only played in one game together (Week 14) before Diggs was shut down. This was the second time in as many years the All-Pro cornerback was lost due to a knee injury, after he tore his ACL in 2023. His long-term durability has become a question but Diggs isn't letting that slow him down.

Diggs is reportedly on track to play in Week 1. His recovery time was estimated at eight months and he had the surgery in January. Dallas won't try to rush him back, however. They understand how vital he is to their defense and they're going to ensure he's 100 percent healthy to keep him and Bland on the field together as much as possible.

Renew contracts for the future and establish the best cornerback duo in the NFL for the next 5 seasons.

TBH really

they cannot rush Diggs back his procedure was related to cartilage in his knee, more or less a cartilage graft
It’s a tough recovery physically but I don’t expect much this season from him. It takes time after recovery just to get conditioning and the mental part back

reports are he’s not going to ready until mid season
Probably not but ready isn’t necessarily ready to play a nfl game. It’s gonna take time. I don’t expect much from him this season. We need to approach the roster like he’s. It gonna be here

At least in that game, you are right. Not sure what got into him. Usually that's not who he is. I think he's only getting better.
