Video: Daron Bland had a terrible game

Or 27, or 23, or 14, or even 13 and 24. 11, 20.

Not to mention all the shorter stuff to the TEs.

Tell me who on defense looks good? Maybe QW. He is starting to flash. What has Downs really done lately? Hooker?

CP is not helping this defense.

From a talent perspective, do we have the 32nd ranked defense?

Or do we have the 32nd ranked DC?
I’m beginning to think you’re his agent.

In a game that had all time lows for Cowboy players, Bland had the baddest game of all of them. And i don't mean Michael Jackson "Bad".... i mean Jerry Jones "Bad". The kind of game that if i was him would make me switch Jersey numbers and change my name.

Cowboys fans are just as stupid as Jerry

Defenses that rely on turnovers cannot be counted on in the playoffs just like you dont pay a CB just because he got a lot of picks one year. These are a flash in the pan and cannot be counted on. I asked repeatedly to trade away Bland and Diggs after their high pick seasons but stupid fans right here wanted them paid top dollar

You reward discipline, consistency, physicality, want to because those can be counted on

It’s a little bit of both. #26, #24, #27 on the field together is honestly like playing 8/9 on defense. These guys are truly invincible, offer nothing in run support or coverage and have 0 play making ability. I would trade for another CB/S before an edge rusher. Secondary is still a bigger need IMHO.

I have no idea why you would ever have him playing off man like they do. There's no CB in the league who can be successful with what they are trying to do.

They are purposely giving WRs 10-12 yards unimpeded field side lmao

Lets see.

Hopefully we get Thompson back in 2 weeks. Porter should be able to roll next week. Maybe Durrant. Then lets see how they play.

Im more down on Revel. Dude is just too fragile to play in the NFL. Im afraid he is the next Overshown.

Probably why they went out and got Porter.

Bland has been terrible since he signed that big contract. Fools gold. Only a wildcatter would have paid that dude after one huge year.

Diamond surrounded by trash?

Seriously though. Im not, nor can I, defend the slips that have given up chunk plays. Or the play last week where he bit and got beat.

Im looking at the totality of his play. Also taking into consideration of who hes playing with and how hes being told to line up and cover.

What happens when Porter plays and hes forced into playing these CP zone schemes? And he too gives up receptions? Or maybe he'll ball out. Maybe CP plays more man.

If it was JUST bland that has been giving up 30 points a game, Id get the hate. But there is plenty to blame, starting with the DC.
It’s possible to look at individual play in the context of overall team defensive performance.

Otherwise, if someone cared to, they could literally replace Deron Bland’s name with Reddy Steward and make the same argument.

Been saying this, but I’ve been assured it’s not true, and that Bland is “solid”.

Like Diggs he really has fallen off a cliff. He even had a perfect opportunity at an int at the end of the game and perhaps that ends up being the difference despite all else that went wrong.

He’s being paid to do exactly that.

So why is Dallas still paying him? This is a rhetorical question.

Someone said Bland wasn't a good corner the year he had all those picks......

You're ignoring the plays and good coverage he has had. Thats what Im looking at.

Its easy to look at the handful of bad plays. You replace Bland with Reddy and there would be a lot more bad plays.

The one thing he was good at a few years back was a pick six. And he couldn't pill that off last night.
