Yes. Diggs is probably right, but we'll put the anointing oil away for now :)

Bland is one of those guys that just makes plays.
Yep, he just has a knack for being around the ball. I don't care what his "ranking" is of the draft class, I would argue first but what I care about is 3 interceptions and 2 TDs this season and it's only been 4 weeks. He's scored more TDs this season than most of our WRs. Off the top of my head I believe he has more TDs than every WR. He's just a playmaker. A dangerous playmaker that we stole in the 5th round.

He’s really, really good.

But yeah— everyone’s eagerness to call him the best is bizarre.
It was honestly like because he has the cool nickname and cool chain people rushed to put him on the great conversation.

The important point is just that you should never draft a corner in the first round.

That's a Dan Quinn system thing... he's got his type and his teams let him go nuts late rounds.
Also 100% true.

I remember when it seemed like the Seahawks could just plug in anyone at corner and not miss a beat. And then when those same corners went elsewhere they ended up being hot garbage.

Remember Byron Maxwell? Or better yet, does anyone even actually remember what happened with Brandon Browner after he left? One of the original LOB members.

According to Diggs lol. Sauce slander? Glad we found Daron. I think his ceiling might be higher than we give it credit for.

well I don't believe that I mean I think sauce Gardner is a better cover guy and not getting enough credit here but yes they're on bland is great he was a steel where we got him why do we have to bring in somebody else to knock down in order for him to make better he's not slander sauce the dude I've seen him play he's one of the best cover corners in the league he just not one of those risk takers I mean did you see bland play last week against the Cardinals he got beat a few times he's a better ball skills guy he's a ball hawk he's like Trayvon diggs who likes to go for the ball but sauce gardener is a better cover corner..

But why do we have to have a comp why can't we just say Theron Blaine is one of the better young corners in the league right now that's it that's all the suffice..

It’s not a “comp”. I think most agree Sauce is the best. The fact we got someone who has been more productive then the best corner in this draft.

He's going to have issues here and there, young player but it is pretty obvious he is a ballhawk similar to Diggs. I think he will get better and better as he plays.

Again production sometimes it's about risk taking sauce Gardner rather cover his guy like a glove and miss some interceptions whereas our guys give up bigger plays Trayvon diggs and drawn bland are very similar players they like to gamble and that's the difference but sauce Gardner is still a better player overall because he's locking down dudes and lots of quarterbacks don't wanna throw at him because there's no separation..

It is a comp you guys are trying to say Deron bland is better than soft Gardner when they're both different players achieving similar success..

Yeah that’s going too far. Sauce is still the best of that draft. Gonzales is probably the best of this years draft.
I'm not saying Bland is better, but it doesn't matter who the better player is, its' about opportunity cost. 2022 isn't a great example, because it was a poor draft at the top, but you're way better off with Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Bland than Sauce, Wilson and Michael Clemons.

The gap in talent between premiere and average corners is tiny, compared to the gap in talent at WR, OL and passrusher.

You can go through this exercise every year for highly drafted corners, and it's especially true considering how much variance there is in those players being successful. For every Surtain or Sauce, you have an Okudah or Horn.

No one has said Sauce is better except Trevon and he’s just riding for his teammate. Bland was a 5th rounder and has been more productive than anyone from the draft. Be happy lol. Sauce is better. Sure. We have a good one.

You have to take it from draft to draft. If I need a corner and it’s the 2023 draft I’m not passing up Gonzales. He had shut down capabilities prior to getting drafted. Same goes for Sauce. I feel I have a better chance of getting a stud receiver in the second or third round than I do corner.

Wow!! To see it "on paper" really blows you away. What a player.
