If you go into the draft with corner as a need, then your priorities in the early rounds should be passrushers and OL/WR to make your own passing game better.You have to take it from draft to draft. If I need a corner and it’s the 2023 draft I’m not passing up Gonzales. He had shut down capabilities prior to getting drafted. Same goes for Sauce. I feel I have a better chance of getting a stud receiver in the second or third round than I do corner.
Take swings in later rounds on CBs and hope you hit one. Missing on a corner to fill a need is crippling. Using mid-value resources on a corner and heavily investing in the systems around them is the sustainable way to improve the CB room.
