I'd be interested in Darren Sproles, but not at 3.4 million.

I'd be up for trading a 6th round draft pick for Sproles assuming he signed a new maybe 3 year contract that was in accordance with his lower production.

Sproles even at his current age is probably a better option than Dunbar and still wouldn't be the starter, he would be behind Murray, but I think he would be a good #2 option for us. Which I think we need pretty badly.

We don't have a 6th round to trade.
Maybe a 7th, but I'm not sure at this point. Normally I would say no thanks, but with Dunbar comng off an injury, and Randle didn't show a lot. Maybe, but leaning toward no, not now. Maybe they will release him though too.

Didn't he have some concussion issues this past year? If healthy he would definitely be a nice pickup for returns and as another passing option out of the backfield.

Backup RB isn't nearly as big of a priority as anyone on defense. All FA money need to go on that side of the ball. Besides, we just drafted a RB last April.

We throw screen passes once in a blue moon. So, what would be the point of having Sproles?

Sproles would not be an option at this point of his career IMO, but the RB position is not solid at all. Murray does well when healthy, but there is nothing behind him. I think the draft pick used last year at the position was wasted. I don't think the offense is more than en injury or two away from bring just as bad as the defense.

Nah, he's slowing down, been dealing w injuries, and a rookie would be much cheaper

Noooo...FA retreads are what has killed the talent level on this team...go wit what works and that's the draft and younger players...the "big name" FA chasing has to stop...leave that to the Skins and eagles

We have someone similar in Dunbar. If healthy id stay with him. Sproles isn't what he used to be. That's why saints are trading him

I am more inclined to try and find help through the draft.

Terrence West or James Wilder. Like both of those guys.

nah, he would want too much money and is not the missing cog to get us there. I would rather spend the money on defense if anything, plus lance dunbar is a cheaper version of sproles.

Sprockets would be nice, but even at a friendlier salary, I would think we use that late round pick on someone who could give us what he could, at an even lower price.

I really like Sproles, but there is a lot of talk of James and Seastrunk being available at the end of the draft. Those two are sproles-ish, without the price tag and younger.

I don't know where the Saints offense ends and Sproles begins, but Sproles has caught a whopping 232 passes over the last 3 years, with extremely consistent production. If you bring him in and use him correctly, it seems fairly safe to assume he'll produce.

Sproles is a special player.

The Cowboys have never shown the ability to think outside of the box with a player like Sproles.

He needs a good coach for him to be as productive as he can be and he wouldn't find that here.

Why is that? He didn't get much of a chance to show what he can do.

He seems to be the type of RB that is one step too slow for the NFL and he doesn't have the quickness when cutting to be good. I think that is the reason for the limited snaps. It seems like the coaches didn't consider him an option even when Murray was out.

If it takes a good coach to get someone to be productive then that player is not a special player. Special players shine no matter the coach or system. I would label Sproles as more of a specialty player.

This should change under Linehan. Linehan rejuvenated Reggie's career in Detroit. Dunbar, or another Reggie Bush type player, could have a major role in Dallas' O next season.
