Dat and Parcells

defamation would have been more accurate-

Slander is NOT written.

That aside, why would you hope he's right on this?

if hes not correct than he just unneccessarily sullied the reputation of an all time warrior in Boys history -

Nors is quite observant at times and inflammatory at other times, his analysis is always interesting- if nothing more.

The preseason events coupled with the odd timing of a possible retirement Of Dat is suspicious at the very least-

time will tell what actually occurred

Great post - differing opinions make for a discussion board. Nuff said.

I thought you had to go to bed.

Could this mean you were run...naaa.:D

Parcells really went as far as he goes to sat Dat was broken down emotionally and physically. Beat up were his words - the pounding taking a toll on him. Insinuated that Dat knew he was losing the ability to hold up.

This story is not over and it was not just a "stinger" here. Listen to BP - this goes real deep - he opened up and thats not his norm.

I think Dat plays again in the NFL - somewhere else next year.

BP did sometime amazing for Dat which showed how much he respects him and tells me that you are totally off-base. He gave him a few games on the active squad where he wasn't playing -- gave him a chance to see if he could play through it. And he couldn't. When Shanle went down against the Lions, Dat told Fowler to go into the game -- That's Dat saying he can't play anymore -- not on BP at all. Gave him another game after that to see if he could do it.

BP loves Dat -- respects him deeply. BP opened up because he felt for the player.

You are gonna kill me for this, but I actually like Nors. I dont understand what he is trying to say sometimes and alot of times I dont like what he is saying LOL, but he does bring some knowledge to the table and keeps the boards popping with some of his...well I guess "unique perspectives" on things regarding the Great Dallas Cowboys.

Like somebody said a while back (I think it was Sarge when he was on one of his tears LOL), hell, give me some good football players on defense and I will show you positive results.

Dat would be on this team still if he wasnt injured. If anything, Parcells seems like the type that is quick to move on when he knows a guy has the "R" word rolling around in his head.

When I get board at work, sometimes I enjoy seeing you, Hos, Nors, and some others go at it with each other.

Nors' recent showdown with Jimmy40 had a chance to be a classic, but CBz came in and spoiled the fun :banghead: .

Cough.......Cough........Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fall asleep around 10:00PM every night. :D

Why is it that sometimes Bill is just being honest - as long as that fits an agenda...But other times, there is a hidden meaning?

I think Bill told the truth. I think Dat told the truth. You're right. This isn't about any stinger. This is about a guy's career ending...

Go listen - bet you don't have the discipline to listen to the PC's. Take Inman recaps and start posting away.

Go play first 7 minutes really. Then play last 30 seconds.

Wow -

Ya know - Money says you believe in UFO's. :D

Reminds me of another guy we have on the squad...Marc Columbo.

The guy had some nerve damage and just had to take some time off. Columbo's situation dragged out for 2 seasons. It was early enough in his career that he could attempt a come back.

I think Parcells is using the Columbo situation as a measuring stick when he says Dat may retire. I'm sure the Columbo situation entered into their conversation.

Dat has been a best LB we've had in a long time. It's tough to see him go but I do think he is considering retiring.

And what better way to get all of the other NFL teams lining up at your door than by saying you've considered retiring due to health problems and that you don't feel like you can play up to your own standards? :D

Hey, Nors .. Jerry Jones said recently that his favorite day of the year is the Thanksgiving Day game and work with the Salvation Army .. tell us how that it's really just him saying that he plans to sign Parcells to a 20 year extension, sign Ty Law and give Romo a 10 year contract. :D :D :D

Another day, another Nors conspiracy theory... nothing factual to back it up, of course, but it wouldn't be a true Nors conspiracy theory if there was any substance behind it, would there??

Nope, Nors convinced himself some time back that Parcells didn't like Dat, and that he desperately wanted to replace his inside 'backer... but throughout the season, if Dat was healthy, he was the starter... so now, Nors has to make up some tensions between coach and player, when the truth is really quite simple-- Nguyen got HURT, and is not able to play at the level he demands of himself...

There's really nothing more to it than that, but Nors is gonna pursue his agenda, facts be d*mned...

There is more to this story than meets the eye.

No, there isn't... look beyond the story, and all we have is you, blowing your same old stale smoke...

I didn't slander Dat - Dat is a good player that does not physically have the ability to perform in this defense. He is physically and emotionally defeated. Thats Parcells words.

Cool to say Nors sux but go play BP PC - serious.

He's not an all time great Cowboy - but a very good player. I'll take the heat for saying all is not being said right now..... I know BP

Why, of COURSE you do, dear boy... Bill was telling me just the other day how nobody has more insight into his mind than you do... he thinks it's uncanny, the way you've been able to figure him out when nobody else can...

Get over yourself, this weak crap is just embarrassing...

Nors- your moronic agenda really clouds what little intelligence you have.
BP was giving a FOOTBALL PLAYER THE RESPECT HE HAS EARNED.
I will say flat out you are TOTALLY WRONG. BUT since you have PROVEN you cannot be objective about certain players, that is no suprise.
There is not ONE PLAYER ON THIS TEAM BP RESPECTS MORE.
THAT has been clear for quite a while. BUT THEN YOU ARE TOO STUPID AND BIASED TO SEE WHAT JUST ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE CAN.
TO be frank, norwood, you are a turd.

Dat was a good player and deserves a nice hand. That said - we are in a playoff hunt and he's been beaten up and not emotionally/physically ready to play football for 2 months.

I have Parcells down - there is an iceberg here when this chapter ends. And its not a "loose disc" - thats JMO

Its easy to be PC here - I care less. There is a bigger story here.

Depends on what the bigger story is....

Too most of us, Dat is one of the smartest players who played with more heart and is a stand up guy. So much so the players voted him captain.

His body has taken a beating and he's actually smart enough to see he would like to have a healthy life after football and he has an injury that WE are not sure of it serverity.

To Nors, this posible retirement of a great person/player/captain for our team is leaving because he predicted it. Thats his big story.

Nors, did you predict your Katrina and were happy you were right ? Thats how a lot of people here are feeling about this thread...At least I can speak for myself that I do.

Two of our starting LB's are injured and you jump with glee.

Really Nors, I actually pity and am sad for you.

I can't believe that someone celebrates injuries to two different Cowboy players just because of the misbegotten notion that it prooves them correct.

It's embarrassing to this entire board when opponents' boards show class about Nguyen for the most part and an alleged Cowboys' fan doesn't.

Okay fellas, Nors's opinion isn't popular but I have to agree with him. I too thought something else was up when I first read the news.

This is just first impression. I got the initial news on my cell phone and was reading the article from ESPN and have yet to read further info but will definitely explore it more today. The way they typed it at ESPN's website made it sound fishy. It would all be cleared up if I had better evidence of his medical injuries but this didn't sound like a Darryl Johnston or Michael Irvin career-ending injury. The quotes they used from Bill Parcells in the ESPN article almost made it sound like he was saying Dat couldn't take the pounding in a 3-4, not just football in general.

I thought it was odd just because I know how tough Dat is. In the article I read, the quotes they used made it sound like Parcells was dissing Dat because his body couldn't hold up to the new defense, not because it was a freak injury that threatened his career in football.

Aw come on guys and gals..

I do not for a second believe Nors was slamming on Dat...

Parcells did seem to be reaching at times for either words or a way of saying something... It may be nothing it may be something...I think it was Parcells not wanting to steal any glory coming Dats way if he retires...

Anybody that watched Dat's style of play and knowing that he has been getting banged up before the switch to a 3-4 ..would kinda guess he was gonna get eaten alive...cause no way was Dat gonna go out and play half-assed he gave his all...

I agree totally. We saw the same thing with the Crayton injury so his boy Price could play. He was downright gleeful when Al got injured.

Dat was a great player and leader. I hope his health issues clear up and if decides that he wants to get out while he can still roll in the grass with his kids that he does it.

I do know that Shanle's play declined when Dat went out. You can't put a price on what a guy like Nguyen or Singleton brings to the film room.

Too bad those guys probably won't be around to mentor the linebackers that will hopefully coming in via the draft next year.

Thats darn fast he's off depth charts - usually they are way behind.

I ask all Cowboy fans to listen to Parcells and PC. Forget the recap - listen to BP.

This is more than a "stinger". Something went down here. I sense it started at the PC where BP was informed Dat was out via press via agent. That led to DNP coaches decision.

At one point BP said on Dat - He's used to hiding behind behind people - can't do that in this defense. Said Shanle more physical and hits it in there better.

Shanle started when Dat ready.

Then when Shanle went down Dat told Fowler to go in I believe I read. Then Fowler starts over Dat.

Parcells really went as far as he goes to sat Dat was broken down emotionally and physically. Beat up were his words - the pounding taking a toll on him. Insinuated that Dat knew he was losing the ability to hold up.

You mean listen to the part where Parcells heaps praise on DAT? That part? Or the part where he goes onto IR and is contemplating retirement? Yea, I listened...Did you?

You are right about one thing...It is more than just a "stinger". It may be much worse.
