Daunting task opening week at Philly!

I will say this we better score TD's and not get into the endzone and start kicking field goals. We need to score and score often. Probably will take at least 30 points to win this game. Unless the weather is bad and it turns into a run fest.

Cowboys can win the Game in the 1st qtr and the 3rd qtr, just don't panic, stick to the game plan and match their intensity, play like you mean it, don't turn the ball over... Well hopefully.

Eberflus' scheme promises turnovers...I think we get at least 2
** convert those to 7 points
** keep scoring down
We have a chance

I don't mind losing, but let's not beat ourselves with penalties please.

If we have a penalty on our opening offensive drive I am going to lose it.

Ring celebration will the Eagles all amped up to face they most hated rival. Cowboys will most likely be playing without Diggs, have Guyton returning from injury, throwing Clark out there on a short week will make this matchup very difficult. Not a no win situation, but one that is going to take a team effort.

Offense has to bring their A game to give the team a chance for success. Cowboy offense has been in bubble wrap, it is time to see what Schott/Adams has instore for this season.

Defensively it isn't so much about the yardage given up, I want to see this defense become better inside the red zone, where they were dead last in the league last season.
offense has to be able to run the ball to succeed. without a running game, teams, including philly are going to drop 7 into coverage and take away all passing lanes. and limit us to underneath stuff. the key is the two tackles and can they hold. we know steele sucks, but he gets TE help. is guyton ready or is he going to suck like last year.

the defense has to prove they can stop the run. if they can't its all a moot point any way. I don't trust the defense right now.

Philly may take us too lightly.

They will be amped up over the SB celebration, and underestimate us.
We have a potent offense. I think we can hang with them.

We'll see what Eberflus does with the defense. I think he had a big say in trading Parsons. Wasn't a good fit for many reasons.

Can we slow down the run, without sacrificing big passing plays? If we have to play 8 in the box we will be in trouble.

They lost 5 contributors on defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles experienced significant player losses after their 2024 Super Bowl win, particularly on defense, with key players like defensive linemen Milton Williams and Josh Sweat, and veteran cornerback Darius Slaydeparting in free agency. Other departures included safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was traded, and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who left for another team.
Well, yes. Perfect example of how the salary cap works. The organization that built a team that can win a Super Bowl still must deal with the same realities the other teams do. They lost over 1,000 snaps from last year’s defense. That is a difficult challenge.

But the organization that built that team built this one. No way they’re as good as last season. And a more difficult schedule. None of that means the Cowboys are going to be any good. Just because Philly isn’t winning the next Super Bowl doesn’t mean the Cowboys will win one anytime soon.

I think it is going to be a shootout. I would definitely take the over.

The main question is do we end up shooting ourself's before the game is over.

If both teams run the ball as much as they claim they want to the better bet is the under.

I'm glad they are all world all stars getting their bling on with all the attention on them. One team is coming to play and the other is full of themselves. Tune in cause you know you want to. See which team is which. Can't wait till kickoff.

Honestly, I think this is a good spot for us. If we lose, it’s against the defending Super Bowl champions on the road—it’s expected, and we can build from there. If we win, the hype train really takes off.

What I mainly want to see is Dallas being competitive—not a doormat. The biggest matchup for me is their defensive line versus our offensive line in pass protection. It looks like Guyton will be starting (I wonder how short his leash will be). The good news is Philly doesn’t really have a premier edge rusher anymore. They lost Sweat, who led them with only 8 sacks last year, and Williams as well. Their interior is strong, but that’s supposed to be the strength of our O-line too. That battle in the trenches will tell a lot.

Second, I’ll be watching their secondary against our passing attack. They lost Slay, Rogers, and CGJ—all big contributors. Meanwhile, we’ve got one of the best receiving corps in the league, and Dak has historically played well against Philly’s defense. That could lead to some fireworks.

Where I’m most concerned is the run game—both ours and theirs. If we get one-dimensional, it’s going to be a long day. And if they can run at will, the time-of-possession battle will tilt heavily in their favor, which means our offense won’t get enough chances to keep up.

Very tough match up at any time of the year. They have a super talented team. I'd say it's either them or Baltimore for most loaded lineup in the League.

Long season. As @Bobhaze (Bullet) posted previously, we all need to keep in mind that this is 1/17th of the season.
Play loose and see what happens, house money game
