I just don't understand why we didn't try and sign him this year. We had a chance to get a great kicker and passed on our chance.

I thought he was still out there or was he picked up ?

Signed with San Francisco.

And I heard that he kicked a 55 yarder a few weeks ago.

We're doing something wrong at our kicking position.

I think it came down to money...........meaning Jerry didnt want to pay big money for a kicker. He said he would never do that again after the Vanderjack situation.

Watch him kick the game winner against us week 2.:laugh2:

We were still too wedded to the Buehler experiement.

If Dallas is in a position to lose by a FG to a team with Alex Smith at QB then there are bigger problems than FG kickers for the Cowboys.

i hear you. it has gotten to the point where i expect us to miss whenever we line up for a fg.. it's brutal

Considering how many guys they have brought in to compete for the job I don't know that this can be said. But they have kept Buehler around for some reason, but maybe that is only if they decide to keep him as a kickoff specialist.

Buehler was never a good kicker so I see no point in keeping him over Bailey. Biggest mistake the Cowboys ever made (concerning kickers) was giving up on Folk after an injury affected his kicking.

Give Bailey a chance and see if he could develop into a solid kicker. If he doesn't, fire Boniel!

Folk wasn't exactly lights out with the Jets.

Because toward the end of last year he looked like all of the other guys that we've brought in - missing stuff.

I think Jerry is making a lot of money decisions lately. No, he isn't going broke like some people have outrageously claimed. But he's mentioned many times since last year that he had the biggest cash outlay of any team last year, and in his mind, look what he got for it. I bet he's thinking he's not going to do that again.

Yup, this was a slam dunk. Epic management fail.

It was a 59 yarder.

Probably would not have mattered if we signed Akers. All kickers (not including those of opposing teams) seem to struggle on this team.

Ain't that the truth.

I'd love to see the numbers over the past 5 years of our kicker's success percentages vs those of opposing kickers success percentages.

At first guess I would think that the numbers would be close.
