David Arkin? OG - 4th round

I would've went with Cannon... He's the best Guard available... Huge physical and mean... Could have replaced Bigg Davis!

Well, we got our guard. He was projected as a 5th round selection, but seems like a solid pick.

cannon is going to have his medical issues. I am sure he will be there in the 5th round and he might not even play this year. Are we going to IR him like we did with Brewster.

I agree. At least they picked a guard, who can still replace Davis. Maybe not this year, though. Cannon would be great. Maybe his medical issue will make him slip until the 5th... then we'd have 2 good OG's something we need.

He has a form of cancer. Its unlikely he'll be ready any where near the start of the season. Arkin isnt a bad pick. He started a ton and dominated in college. Also a academic all-american.

Gosselin I think had him in the top-100. Had him as a sleeper pick in his positional rankings.

Most projections I saw had him in the 4th rd.

Not that I'm too dissapointed with the pick because I heard some great things about him! I'm definitely glad that we addressed the guard position and I think the guy could still be replacing Davis by midseason if he plays the way he did last year! It takes strength and grit to play guard and they say Arkin has it with agility so I won't complain about that! Sounds like an instant upgrade over the gentle giant Lenoard Davis...smh

I was over on NFLN, what did Dilfer say about him?

Dilfer was saying he one of his favorite linemen in the draft. Believes he'll be a great starting OG in the future. Likes he tenacity, the way he keeps his feet moving and looks for a second man to hit.

That wasn't verbatim, but pretty much the synopsis.

Trent said that he was a small school gem, who he thinks is one of the best lineman in the draft! He said that he's a nasty kid with a mean streak, who is fluid from his hips, has a good bend(whatever that meant) and gets to the second level! He said that he can see this kid as a big time guard!

Thanks. I didn't know anything about him. Sounds like a nice pick and we need a guard.

He was a combine invitee, which says something, and has got some good measurables.

6'4 1/2" 300 lbs
33 7/8" arms
10 1/2" hands
5.28 forty
28 bench press
29" vertical

Listening to Spagnola right now. He said he passed by Jerry Jones in the hall and said "where did you unearth that guy?"

Jerry said "we've been tracking that guy for a long time..."
