I heard he missed four today in the ongoing saga of what I've called the "Jerry Jones Miscalculation"

It's coming you know...

Brad Sham:
"The Cowboys drive stalls...The team will now turn to the kicking game for a 34 yard field goal to rap up this hard-fought game here in New York."

"David Buehler, trots onto the field with a steely look, what Jerry has dubbed Buehler's "linebacker's mentality". But...but...David looks a little... dizzy..."

Stop. Stop now. I'm serious. And it's not because I think it's stupid.

You started the last one and Kosier got injured. Right now we need Der Buehler.

While he can probably use his sheer will to make the injury go away, I would rather not take that chance. These threads are a bad omen, bad luck. I'm superstitious this time.

Please, for the love of God, stop the thread. Or even, Mods, send it into the abyss. Please.

OK. I'll stop.

But listen...We need a veteran kicker.

Thank you. You may be right by the end of preseason, but this last game gave me a better feeling about him.

Take the wait and see approach. If it's the end of preseason and he hasn't proven that he's the man (god) for the job, I'll be right there with you on the veteran kicker thing.

Victory comes...when you can stare into your deepest fear...

And either...
Tackle it
Fix it
Come to peace with it

I didn't jinx anyone or anything. What has transpired has all done so to stir the Cowboys to action.

Sometimes things happen for a reason...or at least we can find reason in the things that happen

Why is that? At least wait until Buehler shows us he is not reliable...

Why dont we see what he does in these other 3 preseason games before deciding?

He's missed 1 FG in 2 games...he's been kicking good in practice and he's coming off a game where he nailed all his kicks...even his kickoffs look better, which is amazing...he was already great at that.

I want to get the best veteran free agent *now* and not wait around and end up with another Shuisham.

Dude, anybody available NOW is almost assuredly going to be available in 3 weeks.

In fact there's likely to be a couple more veteran kickers hit the streets after cut downs.

Let me turn that around dbair.

Why wait? If bringing a second kicker in unnerves DB then he wasn't strong enough mentally to begin with.

And if we have to cut that veteran guy later...all that was lost was some of Jerry's money on well-invested insurance.

You gotta give the guy the reps...what possible good comes from signing a street free agent right now, today?

If he had been struggling or showing alot of inconsistency, I could see some logic in it.

But there's nobody out there right now who's a definite upgrade over what we have seen so far, in fact most (if not all) might be lesser players. I'd rather wait and see. On top of the fact that a few more vets will be available after cut downs.

ok tro back up your yack. Name these better kickers who are available.

The whole notion of "getting reps" seems a little crazy to me. Kicking with nobody on the field isn't much different than with 21 other football players there. The only difference is the emotional pressure...and you can produce that a lot of different ways.

(Just let me out there...I'll freak him out! LOL)

Besides I don't want to see Buehler cut. I want to see the same arrangement as last year, only with a more trustworthy veteran kicker.

I think he went 3 of 7 today.

What is he 5 for 6 in actual games though? A hobo off the street would kick better than what we had last year so I am fine with our current situation.

I doubt any hobos could make a single field goal, so i wouldn’t be fine with that. Beuhler has done well so far in two preseason games, but he has more to prove.

I think a hobo could make that ****ing extra point distance field goal that almost lost us the saints game.
