Yes I think it was foolish but only because of the up roar I knew hypocrites to cause. As for the rest, goodell and the NFL would have a tough time upholding a punishment where no law was violated or even alleged to have been committed. All of the other suspensions that have held up in court at least had the factor of an alleged crime being committed, in Elliott's case no criminal charges were ever actually filed. This possible case the only one the NFL could remotely consider as the victim is the wife but she arranged it to start out with so she can't be a victim. So this boils down to personal choice that violates no laws and a judge will declare that is none of the NFL's business and throw out any suspension goodell might possibly throw at Irving.

Criminal charges were never filed against Elliott but with Irving there is no alleged criminal violations only the NFL being hypocrites for possibly taking action for something they secretly wish would be done for them.

Why do you believe that they would have a tough time? We have seen them do this, time and time again. Zeke would never have been convicted but still, he got suspended. I just think fans have a tough time accepting that this is really not about Law, necessarily.

There doesn't have to be a criminal act for a player to be disciplined. Guys get fined all the time for things don't don't even come close to being criminal.
