The expectation is that Dallas will place a second round tender on him.

If a team places an offer sheet with an annual salary of ~14M with 35-40M guaranteed, are you matching that offer or taking that second round pick?

To make things simple, we will say a mid second round pick is on the table. A top 50 selection.

Not sure if it influences your decision or not, but in this hypothetical situation, you can assume Tank is staying long term.

Irving is not fetching a 1st round pick. If a team wants him for a 2nd, let him walk. His play is too spotty anyway. He's available, then he's not available. He's a terror, then he disappears.
Let him go if he gets a better deal. I'd love to get a 2nd round pick in return.

I really like him and when he's on, he's ON. BUT. He's been suspended before and who knows if this concussion injury will linger around. Second round pick? I'd take that.

Considering his health issues and background I am going to go ahead and say nobody gives up a 2 in any scenario.

Twitter GMs seem to think this is the plan..who knows

Put a 2nd on him and wish him the best. I really like Irving but he plays kinda sloppy and his value will probably never be higher.

I highly doubt a team would give up a 1st for him.

If we place a second round tender on him and someone bites we’d make out. That would be huge for us to have another second round pick. Helps us actually have a better shot of making out with one of em since we’ve been iffy for years in the second round lol

Hell yeah!!! Take the second round pick and maybe if we’re lucky, in a few years the guy pans out to be as good as.... David Irving!
