David Johnson new deal

It sets the floor until Bell sign a deal somewhere which will set a new floor. Zeke will want a little more than the highest RB deal at the time.

1. Does anybody actually think Zeke has been the best RB in the league either of the last two years?

2. Everyone agrees you'd let him walk before paying him those contracts, correct?

1) he was the best RB in the league while on the field both of the last two seasons
2) no, I won't let him walk

Luckily we have him under contract for 2 more years and can use a franchise tag... by then, his age will lead to him getting a similar deal to what Johnson just got.

1. Sure there are people that think that and they would use stats to make their case.

2. I think a lot of people would say you have to sign him. You spent a top 5 pick on him. If you arent willing to pay a RB top dollars, then you can’t draft them high.

Rookie fifth year then franchise after that. 6 years a Cowboy. I expect they let him walk after that.

If a guy needs a top league contract, you're better off just franchising him for a year. The franchise price will be lower than what you'd pay on a full contract.

As long as you don’t jerk him around with the tag. If he’s not worth a contract then trade him. Somebody will pay. Going through what Pitt is going through is dumb.

I agree with all of this, and plus I wouldn't just let him walk, especially if he's still capable of putting up 1,500-yard seasons. Not to mention the fact that we spent a high pick on him.

Youre coming up with the conclusion he's the best the last two years how exactly? Because it cant be further from the truth lol.

He led the league in rushing his rookie year and would have led it again last year if not for the suspension.

Zeke is the best running back in the league. He can do everything that an elite running back can do, plus he blocks and he catches balls out of the backfield.

I’ll take it one step further. This team goes as far as Zeke takes them.
