David Nelson's Antics

Couldn't have said it better.

If you're actually upset or consumed with this little trivial bit that had no effect on the football game, it is a serious reflection of the sad state of affairs in your own life.

Real life > something that happened at a sports entertainment event

Although I appreciate the free psychoanalysis you really haven't articulated why it was appropriate.

1. Why does an undrafted free agent WR feel the need to make proclamations to the media in the first place?

2. Why would even the most established player feel the need to celebrate in the midst of a blow out?

3. Is this the Hallmark channel or the NFL? Enough rainbows, butterflies and unicorns. Do your job, play football and act like a professional. My girlfriend and I work for the same company. I would never stand up in the middle of a meeting, jog to her seat in the conference room, giver her a big hug and hand her my laser pointer before making my way back to my seat. You are playing professional football (with emphasis on the word professional) so act like it. Pro's don't carry out a pre-planned celebratory routine when they are getting routed.

:signmast: This was my feeling. They showed pictures of them with their fists up, smiling for the camera, in the event that this would occur. It was cute and had no effect on the game. I only wonder what they did to help him recover after the game.:p:

Oh yeah the poise they showed of them like 2 boxers standing at mid field at Cowboys stadium prior to the game? I don't think anyone with the organization is all that upset with this. If anything it is a human interest story.

When a player hands the ball to someone in the stands he typically doesn't announce to reporters a week in advance that he is going to do something incredibly original and surprise everybody. Again, this comes down to another attention starved athlete acting in a way that says "please look at me, pay me attention".
What about posters who make posts so ridiculous that it forces the readers to "look at them".

Cannot at all understand why this topic is going on and on and on and on. Simple thing, didn't affect the game and the two are going out. I mean maybe you'd have some semblance of a point if the two didn't know each other, but really? A love for one another transcends the game of football. Yeah it was corny as some have said and yeah he planned it. But I've planned a bunch of cheesy things in my time too and a camera not being focused on me never stopped me from doing it, either.

Quit whining about it.

Being in love is such a wonderful thing, especially when it's innocent and pure.

Quick! Get the insulin! I am going into a diabetic coma here!

I'm sorry it's not as stimulating as another "Tony Romo Sucks" thread but if you'd turn on ESPN or listen to the radio people are talking about it. From the sounds of Reality's earlier post there was at least one other thread on here that got deleted so obviously it is a subject that people have interest in. Accept it or stop reading the thread.

Quit whining about it.

That was an old pic possibly taken for the article. It wasn't from the game.

If that was my girlfriend, I'd have done the same. I mean, look at her.... Wow. :p:

Until any of you figure out how to bag a girl that hot, you should probably not analyze this too much. I think he's doing just fine without any of your love advice.

It was taken before the game but I don't think it was that old.

Heh, lucky for me I don't sit and watch the garbage that comes on ESPN. In fact I only tune in to watch the games on Monday. These people that are talking about it are paid to create headlines and stories that will get your attention so that you tune in to their network. Not glamorous enough for them to talk about the destruction of the Bills, it has to have a reality TV spin on it.

Some people eat it right on up. Those are the ones perpetuating it. Those are the people "talking about it". The media plants the seed and away it goes.

It's a non-issue. If you think it's an issue just because a place like ESPN is talking about it, well then, there is your problem.

But let's continue on. I'm sure a thread over something so meaningless can be taken 50 pages or more in light of the fact that there was nothing meaningful to whine about in that game.

What an unprofessional person. She should be fired and have to turn in her laser point... I mean her pom poms immediately.

No, more appropriate would be to spank some of the posters in this thread and the previous ones.

And not lightly, either.
