David Nelson's Antics

That is your mindset that does not mean that is what he was feeling or doing when he gave his GF the ball. What? do you know what is in a guys heart or mind? Give me a break you put this trash on him as if you know.

I know because he announced it days ahead of time. This completely defies acting or feeling spontaneously if it is premeditated.

Lol, you really think that's what is going to happen next. A player running over to a cheerleader he doesn't know and physically assaulting her?

C'mon mayne.

I guess we should thank TO for starting this by taking the cheerleaders pom poms and celebrating, or Ocho Cinco for fake proposing to a cheerleader.

Yes, the next step apparently is "groping a cheerleader."

You know how it goes.

One guy gives a ball to his girlfriend and all hell breaks loose and pretty soon you have entire teams gang raping cheerleading squads after TDs.

So can you post a link or video of the actual statement by Nelson where he supposedly made such a predication?

I keep hearing that bantered around, but haven't read anything specific. I'd like to read it myself.

Funny thing too that a scrubby undrafted free agent was able to come through on his promise to score in a specific game.

This article was written after the fact but it also talks about the comments Nelson made ahead of time.

How many TD celebrations are actually "spontaneous".

Anyone think Aaron Hernandez's safe cracking and rain making was just made up on the spot?

How about Cam Newton when he tears his shirt open like Superman. Think that just popped into his head as he was crossing the goal line?

How many times does Aaron Rodgers have to strap on the championship belt before it isn't considered "spontaneous"?

I really don't see why people are so upset over it.

They got their ***** handed to them and the guy took advantage of what could likely be a once-in-a-career opportunity and did it in a way that wasn't disrespectful to the opposition.

And that does not make his motive as you describe it because it was not a spur of the moment.

I don't think we're on the same page here. I'm describing his motive as being self serving. Simply stated, I think he did this to increase his own name recognition and generate publicity.

His announcement of his intentions in the days leading up to the game only supports my conclusion.

How does his victory lap not being a spur the moment act contradict what I'm suggesting his motive is? If anything it reinforces it.

I think he was expressing his feeling for her nothing more than that.

But this seem to anger you so be mad if you choose.

Watching the Cowboys dismember the Bills, and play perhaps the most complete game, in all three phases, that I have seen in quite some time was awesome, .. and a lot of fun to sit through.

I hope this is just a sign of things to continue.

The whole BillWR/DCC thing was about 5 seconds in the otherwise wonderful 3 hours.

In all of the NFL football I have watched since 1964 or so, I dont think I have ever seen anything close to this. Except maybe "OC-85" faking a marriage proposal or something like that. Or was that T.O.?

Anyways, I'm glad all of you ladies enjoyed it.

Ray Lewis is a murderer, rothlisburger is a rapist and the list goes on.... You really think these players are beyond a little inapropriate contact?

Wow. Awful broad brush you have there.

Like most women, I though it was so sweet. And yes, it was publicized for days leading up to it. He admitted that it would put her in a more awkard position than him, but he did it anyway. He also said that if the score was different at the time, he would've done something else. Not sure what. Kelsi is cute as a button and knows her boyfriend is willing to display his affection for her to millions. He's the only Bill who scored and the Cowboys had their best game of the season against a contender. All is well.

Should have been stabbed in the neck for that. His GF should have slapped the ball out of his hand and turned her back on him.

That was disrespectful IMO.

The beautiful Kelsi Reich is a stunning Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, but she also is Texas Rangers Derek Holland’s loving girlfriend. Kelsi Reich’s boyfriend is Texas Rangers 24 year old starting pitcher from Ohio, a great player that called the MLB’s attention ever since he was at Wallace State Community College, he started playing with the big guys last year. But what called our attention is not the fact that he is an amazing pitcher but his utterly beautiful Cheerleader Girlfriend that has captivated everyone’s heart not just by her incredible body and gorgeous face, but for her honesty, kindness, humbleness, happiness and so many great qualities that described Kelsi, we are so sure that are the same ones that scored a homerun in to the heart of this young Ranger, don’t you agree?

What amazes me is that many posters here fail to see that Nelson simply used her as a prop. Not surprisingly many in the national media (Skip Bayless, Bill Plaschke) seem to recognize and acknowledge this for what it is, a shameless ploy by yet another attention starved athlete.

I only read the first 5 pages ....but ive seen words such as sweet, cute, romantic, pure , love, and beautiful.................all things not associated with the game of football.....

i say screw him , her and their love....i wish Jerry would have had security march her around the field right in front of the Bills bench ,stopped and explained to her man that he just got her ejected....

she should have refused him and the ball.....she isnt a fan, or a player she is a cheerleader...she is there to support Cowboys not her man friend...

It was corny...a complete attention wh*re moment from Nelson. He knew he was in the national spotlight because that story was frontpage news on Yahoo last week so he wanted to capitalize on it. Wanted to have his own Ochocinco/Ian Johnson moment

How was it part of the natural flow of the game? It's just as unsportsmanlike as a contrived endzone celebration. Why did the NFL make it illegal to take your helmet off after a TD? Why did players take off their helmet following a TD in the first place? Because they were screaming "look at me everybody" and the NFL decided it was inappropriate. I'm predicting that the NFL will decide David Nelson's stunt was also inappropriate and that he will receive a fine. Maybe I'm wrong about that prediction and if so I'll be the first one to admit I was wrong.

It didn't stop the natural flow of the game. He got off the field then gave it to her. How did that interrupt the natural flow of the game.

Oh, and all endzone celebrations are not created equal. :)
