Same old, same old.

It's as clear as day that Montrae Holland is better than Leonard Davis now. Before you say "it was only one game" or anything of the sort, Davis hasn't gotten it done for a while now. At every opportunity, Holland has done nothing to embarrass himself and that's more than we can say about Davis. And it's been obvious for a much longer time that Felix Jones is a better option than Barber to take the majority of this team's carries (as is Choice). I don't know if the decision makers for this team are brain dead, simply don't care about winning or can't bare to hurt anyone's feelings, but this is awful.

I think Holland is right now and I think this proves our coaches wont make the changes that are necessary to move this team forward.

Since the day Wade was hired its been "play it safe".

Cant hack it anymore.

No one will ever know how much I hate both of these things.

And ultimately, it may not matter. Felix will probably play more and get more carries. Holland may come in and play most of the game again.

But it's the principle that bothers me.

Davis played better when he came back. When he's on, he is far better than Holland.

We served notice on Bigg. If we need to take him out again, he's done here.

Follow the money.......that is Jerry's way. As long as Davis and Barber have those large salaries, they will be starting and playing alot. If Roy was still playing like crap, he would still be starting, because of his large contract. That's the way it is, so quit complaining.

Remember Greg Ellis/Anthony Spencer? Coaching staff doesn't want to hurt fragile egos. Honestly, I could care less if Barber starts, as long as Felix gets the most carries like this last week. Those supposed "issues" with his blocking were bunk and this is one of the few times that I'm glad Jerry overrode the coaches (ignoring the debate about Jerry hiring coaches he can actually overrule).

Hopefully the benching put Bigg on notice ala McNabb when Andy Reid benched him a few years ago. I can always hope.

Maybe, but one of his worst games was against Minn in the playoffs. They know they can bring pressure up the middle to beat us.

If there is one game that I want to see a dominating ground attack this is it! We ran the ball down their throats in the 1st qtr of that playoff game and missed FG's and so forth and then gave up the run attack. Better not do that this Sunday!

Not much better, he didn't give up more sacks when he came back in, but he completely missed a block that would have cleared the path for Felix into the end zone, and perhaps a victory.

Barber, Ellis, Davis, Williams and Columbo late last year.

All proved ineffective but continued to start and play despite someone better waiting in the wings.

It's not funny anymore. It's a serious problem with this organization that they refuse to sit someone who makes alot of money.

I don't really know that "serving notice" can help him all that much. He's deficient in ability. No amount of "serving notice" is going to make his feet any quicker. He has has all the mobility of a boulder at this point and anyone who's watching this team this team should know that. Opposing defensive coordinators certainly do.

Yep, we saw that in the Vela blog.

What makes me laugh about this is the better coach, Parcells would have been run out of the state by this forum for the same thing.

The difference is Phillips inherited a young team that now has a few years under their belts and there should be no reason to "play it safe". This is an all grown up team now, play to win. No need to protect them any more.

Better for him maybe, but he still looked bad.

And when is the last time he's been 'on'?

Holland should get the start, he's earned it. Make Davis earn his starting job back, don't hand it to him.

Better yet, make the deal for Mankins and be done with this underachiever.

It is good to know that Montrae Holland is now our savior.

We've only been trying to get rid of him for 3 years now.

Are you referring to his rise from outhouse to penthouse?

That's what it's come to. Davis is worse than a replacement level player.

I'm sure Barber was officially the starter against the Titans, but Felix got the bigger share of the carries. It's a non-factor.
