Not much better, he didn't give up more sacks when he came back in, but he completely missed a block that would have cleared the path for Felix into the end zone, and perhaps a victory.

yeah, but do you really want your big lug of guard pulling on the goal line. Kosier maybe, but definitely not Davis.

I'm sure Barber was officially the starter against the Titans, but Felix got the bigger share of the carries. It's a non-factor.

I think that's a lot of bunk.

It is a factor.

Any person at any job should aspire to be the best they can be, and to do the best job that they can.

And when they perform better than another worker, they should be treated accordingly.

In this case, the best players should not only 'have more carries', their work and productivity should earn them the title of starter.

For far too long, this team has worried about hurt feelings rather than getting the most out of the team and its' players.

If Barber doesn't like his demotion? Too bad. Do something about it. The other guy is outperforming you.

As for Jones, if he has nowhere but part-time to aspire to, where' his personal motivation to be the best he can be?

People can say it doesn't matter, but being a non-starter will adversely affect a players' earning power when it comes time to sign their next contract.

They know it better than we do.

The players on this underachieving team should be scratching and clawing for starting roles instead of the misplaced sense of entitlement which infects this current team.
