My guess is bigger contract, but not bigger guaranteed cash.

FuzzyLumpkins;1406916 said:If someone told you that you could make 5 to 10% more money over your employment career, would you consider the offer or just go, "i make $50k, what difference is $55k going to make?"
Additionally most employments are avilable up to abe 60 or so. At age 35, that is pretty much the endo of the line in the NFL and that is assuming you arevery very lucky. That is a difference of 25 years of working.

Doomsday101;1406926 said:It depends. Here in Texas the cost of living is lower than what I saw in DC area or in NY. Where I would have to move clearly would be a factor.
FuzzyLumpkins;1406970 said:True but youre basically saying that 5 to 10% is important but the income taxes mitigate that.
I just dont see why people think that once you stop living from paycheck to paycheck you should no longer care about money.

Dallas is home and his family could come see him play. He was supposedly quoted as "absolutely wanted no part of Tom Coughlin". So he took less to come to Dallas. Washington didn't have a chance since they offered the same money as Dallas with Dallas being home.
Doomsday101;1406977 said:Not just income tax which Texas does not have a state income tax but the overall cost of living is cheaper here. As for Davis if he was offered more from the skins and giants yet still came here it would at least tell me being back home means something to him.

Myself, sounds like he wants to continue being fat and lazy. Coughlin is well-known as a hard ***.... thoughts?

iceberg;1408817 said:one thing to consider in all this is texas vs. new york or dallas:
1) cost of living. you can get a HELL of a houe for $500-$600k and up. in NY or DC that would get you something average.
superpunk;1408824 said:Not even close to average, lol. They couldn't get a townhouse.
iceberg;1408829 said:wow? really? i don't live up that way so i didn't want to exaggurate, but for $500k here, you could get a nice house in a great neighborhood. my 1900 sq ft house is 8 years old and i paid $130k for it. it's around $160 now. they're putting up brand new "nicer" homes down the street that start out at $300k. you want fancier neighborhoods you can do that and sure, price goes up, but the other $200-$300 can help cover that.
i may have to see about the sq footages of the houses being built there now and get some good ideas of what the market looks like today.
