Davis will play... Guard or Tackle?

If we get Colombo back, and Davis is at guard then we are ok. As long as we can motivate him and he can keep his weight down.

how relaxing do u think romo is going to feel now that he can take 7 step drops without having to scramble for his life?

Romo will be in heaven just as soon as we finish wrapping up Colombo. He's happy right now though. That's a definite.

On this board not one single person was sad to see him go. They also claim that it was a missed block by davis that resulted in the injury to Leinarts shoulder that knocked him out of the last two games.

"The highest blocking percentage by a Cardinals offensive lineman was 85.5% by Leonard Davis"

K.C. Joyner, Scientific Football 2006.

That isn't to the 90% of Flo Adams of 2006 but I suspect only Kosier and Flo are in that range this year.

David.

what would make me happier a F, is if dallas drafts a robert meacham, anthony gonzalez, or paul williams. or if amobi okoye, adam carriker, leon hall dropped to 22. any of that happenes, i'd be in heaven

thats interesting...for comparison sake what were Steinbach's, Dockery's and Dielman's % like? Colombo? and finally Marco Rivera, the guy Davis is most likely replacing

David

im wondering whats the deal with the money thing? why is everybody so distraught over contracts? people actually thought the prices werent ever going to go up? can u imagine how happy davis is right now? signing 18 mil and getting 18 mil? lol dockery steinbach get 20 and their state jacks their money before they even get it. poor guys

A change of scenery can do wonders for a player and Davis isn't the only player taking plays off in Ari. The same people complaining about the OL and no signings are the same ones now complaining about this signing and how much it cost.

As long as the Pollyanna types can see nothing wrong with this signing, I won't stop reminding them of all the "IFs".
But you are also talking about the team that let Jay Novacek walk away free and clear. That didn't turn out so well for them either did it?

whats wrong with hoping he will play tackle for you all? please tell me how that is taking a shot at your organization..

ill be waiting...

It's really quite simple. You denigrated Davis' ability to play tackle, and Davis is now a member of the Cowboys. Ergo, you "took a shot" at the Cowboy organization, albeit indirectly.

You're certainly free to argue that, because your comment contained nothing overtly derogatory, any criticism against you is unwarranted. However, that argument smacks of cowardice as the context of your comment was clearly negative.

I'm dreaming of a power running game like Phillips had in San Diego. If we sign Columbo, then that right side with Gurode/Davis and Columbo is going to move people out for JJ and Company, this could get fun.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Kosier or a draft pick move to RG, and let Davis and Flo play next to each other. That's close to a thousand pounds on the left side with Gurode/Davis/Flozell, we should be able to run at ease on that side.

You guys just do not want to face the FACT that this guy is not a quality tackle- he is no better if as good as Colombo. At guard- fine- if they can motivate him and keep him playing hard. BUT NOT AT TACKLE.

I hope we do NOT put him at tackle- I see disaster coming if we do.

I see a pattern here.

If you would have read any of my previous posts, you would know that I think he can be a very good guard (hence why I wanted the skins to sign him).

however, the guy just wont cut it at tackle. Which obviously is why I want him to play tackle for you all. Nothing wrong with wanting him wo play at a weaker position

Nothing wrong with it all, nor is there anything wrong with a poster "taking a shot" at the Dallas organization, at least in my opinion. I was merely responding to your "show me" challenge: By denigrating Davis' ability to play tackle (and he was drafted as a tackle), you were criticizing a member of the Cowboys and, by association, the Cowboy organization.

Well, we did just change head coaches. Davis is a bit of an anomaly, though. Players with his size, strength, and athleticism are so rare you can't build a philosophy around them.

Dallas didn't change offensive line coaches though.

Maybe it was a BP philosophy to go after those types of interior linemen.

I agree that guard is probably Davis' best position. I cringe thinking about paying a guard that much money though.

It wouldn't make a bit of difference where he played against your teams pass rush.
Lol...nice attack...down boy:dissskin:

the whole "show me" thing was in response to someone saying that I took a shot at the cowboys.

I don't really think it is a real secret that he has troubles at tackle. Many people on here have even said this. While he might be an ok starter at tackle, i think it's pretty obvious that his better position would be guard.

Oh, look here! The liar showed up! :laugh2:

Hey, if you have to resort to making up stuff just to try and hang, you are more pathetic then I realized...

Don't do that again. That's pretty low, even for a RedStink fan! But, then again, that's all you got, or ever will have...
