I'll admit to never hearing of him and not knowing he was on the team. But, he looked pretty good from the limited action we saw.

My first reaction to seeing him was 'why is Lucky Whitehead wearing jersey #28?' My second reaction was 'who is that?' Those two could be twins.

I think we might see Swanson returning some kicks next preseason game.

Is there some sort of unwritten rule that all 'real' kick returners have long hair? That long hair makes me work harder. I can't see the name so it forces me to use the memory bank in my brain and match number with name.

He's got a little something to him. He has good instincts on returns.

Problem is, I don't think that he has a position outside of special teams.

I'd like to see a little more of Swanson, Mike McAdoo, Kavon Frazier, and Vince Mayle.

Yes to all of them, I even like what I saw out of Rodney Smith. He's got legit size for a WR. Richard Mullaney had a nice play. Swanson interests me, wonder if he might be a better kick return than Whitehead.

this kid looks pretty dynamic on returns. highly doubtful he makes the 53 but I would love to stash him on the PS

what say you?
After last week, I suggested keeping him on the practice squad for his return abilities. If something happens to Lucky, they could promote him from the PS to be the returner.

He's definitely got what it takes to return kicks in the NFL. Tough to fit him on a roster someplace until a returner goes down, though. He's the kind of guy you keep his number if you need him. Some team, whether it's us or another, will give him a call at some point when they need a return man with the tape he put up in preseason.

If it weren't for those "jet sweeps" Lucky runs I bet Swanson would replace him now.

What's it going to be then, eh?

CB, he can develop on the PS.
I don't think so.

Swanson has been bouncing around for a couple of years. If he was truly a capable CB, he would have shown something by now.

That is not to say he is not a good looking returner or athlete. Unfortunately, rosters are too small for players that limited.

That is one thing I wish the NFL would relax and that is roster size.

There are very good football players that cannot make it because of the restrictions on roster size.

Thanks, I thought he was an UDFA.
Yes, they need to do something about the roster size. Especially with all the concussions issues they claim they are concerned about. An expanded roster could help teams from that regard.
