As a board, there has been crying involved with every perceived short coming on position. The Cowboys lost a very good player for this season. That doesn't also mean that the quality at position can't carry the current load.

That also does not mean that a former team with success, has a carry over element that isn't going to be overcome by the present Dallas Cowboys as well.

I was concerned in camp that this team needed to add more depth at the cornerback position as we were 1 injury away from last year happening all over again. Sure enough, Diggs goes down after 2 weeks into the season. Now we have to rely on our 3 starters, one being 33 years old for the rest of the season. Huge step back after these three, as we have the likes of Noah Igbin who was a 1st rd bust, along with the likes of Nashon Wright/Eric Scott. Muku is more of a hybrid. Perfect world, they trade for a veteran corner, but that will be difficult, perhaps they trade for a corner who is on his last year of his contract from a team that looks to rebuilding. Here are some names to consider:

-CJ Henderson Carolina-with Horn down for multiple weeks, they won't be trading another top corner.
-Saq Griffen Houston-many remember him as the former Seahawk corner.
-Marcus Peters Las Vegas
-K. Fulton Tenn-he has a better chance of being resigned then traded.

Corners are like offensive lineman, you never have enough and teams throughout the league lack quality depth.

As for Diggs, since he had this injury so early, there is a chance he could be ready at the start of next year's camp. Keeping Gilmore beyond this year makes some sense, but it is time to draft another future starting corner.
More CB's, sure. Let's just ignore the fact that our D took the next step when we started getting quality DL's. A pass rushing 3 tech is much more important that any corner.

I have no doubt the secondary will rally around the absence of Diggs. If it's Bland who steps up to fill the void, I'm sure he will do his best. Offenses will be wise to test that area of the field so that's what I'm expecting. There is no one to blame for this injury. You have to practice the game of football to play the game of football. Go Cowboys!

IDK, can you explain the relevance of the question?
The point is I think people are way over reacting. If he is a top 2 corner in league, and he wasn't on past conference champion teams or Superbowl teams, his loss is not insurmountable.

Agree, better pass rush helps our secondary, but also a good secondary gives our rushers more time as well. Let's see if our pressure remains against higher level of competition they are going to face.

They will be ok

With the way science is, I wonder with how early this happened if there is a small chance he comes back in the playoffs

Agree, but there margin or error shrinks dramatically.
Not dramatically bro lol. With the way this D is playing with so much confidence and tenacity. . Plus Sak is playing smart and MM has him thinking less just playing
