Day After Thoughts

Interim coach - matters. Gotta get them working on fundamentals NOW. Repetition is key. I would rather start now instead of next offseason/preseason.

People are going to freak, but someone that cares about repetition and getting it right in practice and not just "good enough" is Jason Garrett.

I agree. I hope Jerry gives Garrett the reigns now.

He may just go out and get a Gruden or a Cowher because this has become so bad that MAYBE Garrett cant right this ship.

David, you actually sat through that mess last night? I turned it off after 14-0. First game I refused to watch or missed in 25 years. Dexter and Boradwalk Empire were much better then watching that garbage.

I turned it off right after Kitna interception at 0-0. Knew right then and there we were gonna get blown out of the water. Just saw the final score today and I was not surprised.

LOL I turned it off at the same time and watched Dexter to!

Did you catch in Wade's post game interview where he decided to challenge based on either Scandrick or Sens. (forgot which one) instead of listening to the guys upstairs who said not to challenge?:bang2:

and even if he won, what the defense was suddenly going to step up?

That said it all.

Like I said, occasionally, like the pass at the end of the half vs the Commanders in game 1, you see how truly lame this coaching staff is.

The only repetition in that respect is to constantly have his offense blow at blocking.

What evidence of that is there? Witten's non-block that got Barber killed? Felix ignoring blitzers? Gurode snapping the ball whenever he pleases? Austin's repetitive mistakes?

There is zero evidence that Garrett is that guy. Nothing but a few nostalgic fantasies from a some posters here.

Ware and Miles - Gold. Anyone who says different is just angry and irrational.
I wouldn't describe 2 guys who've quit as "gold". They're part of the problem. Of course they shouldn't be waived, but to ignore the failure of both guys this year isn't being honest about them.

I think Garrett can, but he'll fail just like every other coach if Jerry doesn't really give him the reins in full. If Jerry is still dictating what players Garrett gets to keep or cut, he'll fail just like every guy since Jimmy.

Can anyone explain play-action when trailing by almost 40?

Looking back on things, how in the hell did they ever beat Houston?!!?

That is what everyone is missing on this board it seems. This, while may be a player problem on the field is just a direct result of coaches not having players porepared to play the ball game. It was seen in all phases when we were actually in ball games and now it has just snowballed.

These players may not be the smartest players out there but they can play football.

The coaches have failed miserably!

You do realize Houston's defense is absolutely atrocious?

Also, back then, the Cowboys still had some fight in them.

There is no doubt they would lose to Houston, if they were to play the current Cowboys team.

Good post.

12) Speaking of challenges, Wade's decision to challenge that 1st down run on the GL has to go down as one of the stuipidest moves ever. It was either going to be a TD or 2nd and inches on the GL. Our defense has shown no ability to stop the run or the pass, did he really believe we were gonna stuff them on 3 straight plays? Ultimately it cost us the 7pts on McCann's fumble play.

As he was challenging the play I was saying, Ya can't be THIS dumb.

I mean, what on earth was he thinking?

On occasion, ya see stuff that really shows you how clueless this coaching staff is.

The worst part was after the game he said the coaches in the booth upstairs said it was a td but Wade said Sensabuagh was adamant that it wasn't a td. never, ever listen to the players when making a challenge.
