So many guys still around, could drop 5 or so picks, snag an early 5th, and still pick from a bunch of guys who can help.

I dont think having a rookie as a backup QB is a good idea. It's better to have a veteran as the backup.

Drafting a QB would be a waste imo when the Cowboys have so many other needs. They need to draft someone who will contribute immediately.

As somone who has watched MSU for years Cook is a typical Sparty QB under Dantiono. He'll make the trains run on time but he's not a guy who has ever demonstrated the ability to drive and carry a team.

If you like Kirk Cousins, or think he's the real deal, then you'll love Connor Cook.

IMO, he's just a guy.

I like Kirk Cousins as a backup and as a 3rd rounder... not in the 2nd unless possibly involving the Leary trade to the end of the round.

What I've learned these few years is that the cowboys never draft the obvious need in the later rounds. Expect a wide receiver or qb in the 2nd lol.

Yes they can. History says they will.

D-Law wasn't screwing up the pick. Lee wasn't screwing up the pick. Gregory might have been, but certainly didn't seem that way at the time. I still don't think Escobar was screwing up the pick (he will be a very good TE once Witten is gone... Witten's just a giant in the way right now). Cowboys history in the 2nd isn't as bad as it's made out to be, any 2nd round guy comes with some degree of risk otherwise they wouldn't be there in the 2nd.

I prefer not to go DE at 34. We did that the last 2 years, this is a chance to pick up a real cornerstone player in the trenches. Andrew Billings or A'Shawn Robinson. And Jack is a transcendent talent, I'd pull the trigger on him. If we get any of those 3 guys I'd say we're on our way to one hell of a draft, do not mess this up by reaching for a QB.

Well, aren't we glad we switch picks with San Diego tomorrow. So pick #4 worked out great...

I still can't believe we had the #4 and didn't take a quarterback.

Do you think he can play SAM in our scheme though? At first glance he seems more like a Mike.

I think He's strictly a Mike in this scheme. That's the only downfall. But he has such a high ceiling and is such a high character guy. He would make Mcclain expendable next offseason .
