Draft Day ***Day one Draft Thread***

Jefferson to Minnesota, which was to be expected. Word on twitter is both Eagles and Vikings were desperately trying to trade up for Lamb when he started dropping. No takers.

can lamb get to the opposing quarterback, or get interceptions? because those are the things we need most.

we led the league in offense last year -- but we lost 6 one-score games, because our defense was just not good enough.

in the meantime, we're crossing our fingers on randy gregory and aldon smith.

i don't get it.

no one is arguing our needs, but no CB was in that value, and if you think Chaisson was going to fix our D, you are dreaming. We have plenty of picks left and will address defense, but you cannot force players that are that far apart in value.

It's really weird that people think at 17, there isn't great talent on the board on defense and you HAD to go with BPA despite it being a luxury position. Lamb wasn't a top 5 or even 10 talent. He was a top 12-15. It's not as though we just got a Julio Jones here.
Right on queue. ***** whine whine ***** no matter the pick.

Oh so Dorsett wasn't a need? Aikman wasn't a need? Emmitt?

It's not one or the other, sure you need good players but there's 2 sides to the game, offense and defense, have to balance them...
Should we have drafted a QB or RB if they were best available talent?

I love Gallup, but Lamb is better. Now, against teams with a shut down CB, you put Cooper in the slot or on the move. Lamb will be great with the screens, and if there is an injury, we aren’t running a prayer out there.

Bob Sturm on the Ticket said this, that Vikings and Eagles were trying to trade up with the Falcons.

 Glad your not running the team. Gregory and Smith will be reinstated and the defence can be worked on next.

So you're counting on Gregory and Smith, eh? Maybe Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain can join them? Seems like a fine plan. :muttley:
