IMO, this has been the Cowboys' best day of the draft so far. And I can't remember a set of middle-late round picks that look as promising as our round 4-6 picks. What I like is that they seemed to find value at every pick, they all sound intelligent, high motor, productive and like high-character guys. Interesting that they are all small-school players, and it makes me think the scouts really deserve some credit here, for going out and finding value in out of the way places.

It's also looking like a pretty intelligent, well thought out draft strategy. They've gone for smart players, for guys who are motivated and have some savvy. Also, they've been patient and haven't given picks away by getting antsy and trading up. It's no surprise that every pick today has some draft follower calling the player a hidden gem, or favorite sleeper pick. This draft has Garrett written all over it. He was reportedly pushing to trust the scouts moreso than has happened in the past. With all the teeth-gnashing that's gone on about Carter's injury and the pick of Murray at 3, this looks to me like a draft that has some thought behind it, by a team that actually has a philosophy now.

Okay, I'll take off my cheerleader outfit for now.
