It is a mess and the powers at be are as clueless as our pontiff in how to fix it.

The plate racing used to be good as compared to the mess they have now. At least back in the Dale Sr era there was a lot of lead changing.

As successful as Earnhardt was at plate racing, he hated it.

It's a complete free for all that really have much to do with the talent of the driver or the strength of the car. Danica Patrick could win the Daytona 500 if things fell right for her.

For sure he hated it, even tho he was the best a it.

Danica "could" win but that might be a stretch. If Derrick Cope can win it, she could as well. But Im thinking the Petty's nailed it when they said she wont win any races.

for Jr to end up 3rd after his stupid move after that caution is very good. His lack of patience took him from 3rd to the low 20s in half a lap.

Well Atlanta is off to a flying start, eh?

Atlanta qualifying marred by 13 cars failing to go through inspection

By Nick Bromberg 16 hours ago From The Marbles
  • Friday's qualifying session at Atlanta was blighted by inspection issues that apparently plagued 13 teams

More than a quarter of the 47 cars attempting the race didn't get to make a qualifying attempt because they didn't get through inspection on time. According to Fox Sports 1, NASCAR said all 13 cars were at least on their second attempt for inspection after not passing their first time through.

Jeff Gordon, one of the drivers whose car didn't get through inspection to make a qualifying attempt, called it "embarrassing."

If we would have known this was going to happen, we could have worked on the race setup. Was a total waste of a day at the track

would be nice if debris they throw yellows for would be shown on tv

In this Atlanta race we get a caution for debris on the front stretch - I missed the "debris" if they actually showed it. Go back green and then in a few laps we get another "debris" caution. Im waiting to see them show the debris . . . . . . . . . . . . . . still waiting. Now earlier in the race they showed debris caught up in the fence and were talking about it, but all we get for the "debris" cautions is talk about other stuff and the cameras showing everything but the "debris."

just like clockwork, Danica last car on the lead lap a second ahead of Harvick from going a lap down, and a caution for debris.

And here we get another debris caution - and they never show the debris
