I (BSU homer) was first surprised that Moore looked as comfortable and as in-the-flow of the game as he did last week. He looked the same way up to the 2nd/3rd qtr today.
But then he just seemed to become less and less affective.
He threw a number of passes nicely on target, a number of passes that were off target/ugly, and had a few drops and throw aways mixed in among everything.
IMO, his positives;
seems good at identifying defensive alignments pre-snap,
scans the field well and gets through a lot of reads,
moves subtly in the pocket to find throwing lanes and offset his lack of height,
can throw into very tight windows and his velocity is good enough for 25-30 yards down the field,
not afraid to challenge down the field,
cut down on his turnovers from last week,
looked like his teammates were shaking his hand and consoling him on the sideline as time ran out - he is a leader and his team mates want to play for him.
his negatives,
doesn't have much juice on his throws over 25-30 yards down the field and his deep outs floated in,
threw some strange wobblers that were just plain bad, and others behind his receivers (may have been the weather),
did he throw to Witten at all today, other than the screen pass?
Buffalo seemed to make some adjustments after the first few drives that led to Moore standing back there scanning the field but not finding anyone open,
he seems to make a bad throw or do something not ideally then come back the next play and convert a long third down with a nice throw,
he could of made a strong case for himself (maybe he did to the coaching staff) by going and winning this game and he didn't or couldn't do it. This is the big negative for me.
Moore had an ideal situation today minus having Dez and Bailey (most of the game) which isn't insignificant but he still had some weapons. And he got great support from the o-line and Mcfadden. He was mostly untouched the whole game and had plenty of time to survey the field.
He may not have a long leash for proving himself but he is still inexperienced, NFL-game wise, and may be able to put it all together with a few more games under his belt.
Maybe what Moore was today is the best he is going to be, but it is also important to note that his performance and points scored was eerily like Weeden and Cassel playing with roughly the same cast of WRs.
