DC.COM Blog: Cowboys Won't Forget About Choice

i am sure this is what the coaches are thinking.they will play a hobbled mb3 instead of starting choice because he is supposed to the worst RB we got.this is the kind of moronic thinking that has got us at 3-2.

And Future joins in that moronic thinking. Too bad.

This is very simple:

1. When Felix and Barber are at 100%, dont give Choice carries.
2. When Felix and Barber are not at 100%, give Choice all of the carries.

It's very straightforward, yet out coaches cannot seem to understand.

No. give Choice all the carries all the time except when Jones and Barber spell him. Jones and Barber are side kicks. Always have been. Choice is Roy Rogers. He gets the trouble taken care of and gets the girl.

I meant after the bye week when everyone will be healthy.

...think in conventional ways.

Starting positions aren't given, they are earned. Good teams make you earn them from week to week.

Established players don't lose starting positions due to injury, they earn them back when they are healthy.

If you are injured, you sit down and let those who can contribute more line up.

There is no doubt in my mind that (2) runs yesterday which Barber broke past the line of scrimmage would have resulted in bigger runs if it were Choice.

It's a bad decision that Garrett made to keep Barber in when Choice was clearly the better back.

Right now the #3 back is Felix, the #2 back is Barber and the #1 back is Choice if you wanted to talk about in terms of the performance of the last two weeks.

Where the Cowboys are right now if they don't focus on the upcoming week's games one at a time in terms of practice reps and preparation they will suffer the consequences on the field as the big name players are deferred to despite health.

That's a recipe for problems.

They didn't forget about him yesterday.

They just figured the guy with one leg was a better option.

This was after the guy with two good legs ran for a TD and showed that the defense was dreadful.

...of the game again yesterday evening with my son.

Barber definitely had that "Hop Along Cassidy" gait on a couple of runs the line had made holes for him.

All I could think was what would Choice had done with that opportunity?

Does anyone else get flashbacks of Emmitt when you see Choice run?

I'm not comparing the two, and I don't think he is anywhere near Emmitt's league.

He isn't flashy, but he is hardworking and consistent.

I can't believe Choice wasn't getting the ball on Sunday. He put up a Felix line when Felix doesn't get it near enough.

Choice is VERY underrated by our coaches and a lot of our fans. The guy can find the hole and he has the burst to get through it when he sees it even if he doesn't have elite top end speed.

Why he wasn't on the field when we took our first possesion in OT is beyond me.

MB3 is starting to show some wear. You just can't run like he has the past 4 years and stay at a high level for a long time.

the dolphins run game has been unstoppable thus far and a big part of that has been the wildcat if we have three awesome runningbacks why dont we do something similier with them all in at the same time

Wrong. Choice is our best all-around RB. Clear to see. He needs to get his share of carries and I don't give a crap who's healthy or not.

Yes. I do.

talk is cheap. the team is good at saying all the right things

this team has said things like this before only to backed off it

""same **** different toilet"

it was blatanly obvious barber was not himself. i, the fans here as well as the commentators were all pointing out the same thing as well as how effective choice looked with his limited touches.

yet despite the glaring need to get choice more involved garrett refused to put him in.

im sure wade observed what we did but this is what happens when you have no backbone and a coordinator with as much pull with the owner as the head coach.

wade probably wanted to but didnt have the balls to say anything to garrett. as a result he just let it be

until barber is and shows he is healthy choice needs to be out there more, simple as that.

How much of that is them not feeling comfortable with TC in blitz pickups? Barber doesn't just impede players from getting to the QB, he knocks them back, and rarely misses picking someone up. I have seen TC and Felix BOTH miss key pickups in games this year. Until they get better at that.......

You can still utilize all back even if they are not 100%, and you can still get some carries to spell Barber even when he is 100%. I don't understand the logic of wearing down Barber all game when you have TC on the sideline that can still get some carries and spell him.
