Terence Newman is getting most of the love a day after the Cowboys' 21-7 win over Carolina, and deservedly so. But the other Cowboys corners had a good night as well.

As a unit, the cover men were able to bounce back from what had been a tough game in Week 2 against the Giants. Newman and Orlando Scandrick both took blame for the loss to New York, and both recovered nicely on Monday.

The Panthers were held to 220 yards passing in what was the best game the Cowboys' secondarfy has played.

"In this season, yeah," secondary coach Dave Campo said. "I thought overall they did a nice job."

Both Newman and starting right corner Mike Jenkins had an interception. Newman's sealed the game, and Jenkins won the ball back with a nice jump ball interception in the first half, outfighting Muhammed for the pick.

"I just played him," Jenkins said. "I just read my responsibility. I was locked up and the ball was in the air so I went up and got it. I think we played real good - actually I think we played very good. We only had one mistake and that was on me."

The mistake Jenkins referred to was the touchdown catch by Dante Rosario just before the half. Playing in cover three, Jenkins attempted briefly to come up and cover Muhsin Muhammed, allowing the Panthers tight end to get behind him.

I like that new #21

Oh yeah! Me too. He's only going to get better. I kinda wish Jenkins would start this Sunday over Scandrick.

Amazing how one game can change the opinion of a player.

It helps that Carolina Has 1 capable WR S. Smith.. The rest are doo doo..

If Muhsin Muhammad didn't push Jenkins in the back he may have had another interception. He looked ready to make a play on the ball.

But Steve Young said that push in the back didn't change the play in any way. :laugh2:

That doo doo won alot of games last year. Can we be a little positive?.....

I love how Jenkins seems to take chances by looking for the ball first.

He reminds me of a younger and faster Henry.
