DC.COM BLOG: Jumped The Gun On Crayton

Good to know where you stand.

Take this issue for example.

Nick Eatman has Patrick Crayton using the term 'Soft' when describing Wade Phillips in an interview the other day. He writes a story going after Crayton for bashing Wade. He then has to write an apology and say he screwed up for not getting all the facts in the first place.

I provided you with the actual audio of the interview so you could hear the actual words coming from Crayton's mouth and gave my opinion on the issue.

And you want more of the former while wanting the latter to go away.

Yeah. That makes a whole lot of sense.

Where did I say I want you to go away? I never said anything like that. I don't get why you give a flying crap what this guy things. You said he wasn't real media so what do you care if he likes your blog, or any blog, for that matter?

Why does it hurt your feelings so much that he, and guys like Mickey, don't give you respect that you believe you deserve from them?

You're just a fan right? YOu do this for your own enjoyment, for the enjoyment of Cowboys fans and people on this forum, right?

So what does it matter what two guys who work for the Cowboys think? DO you think that their opinion on your blog, and bloggers in general, is keeping bloggers from being thought of more highly?

Find where I said you that what you did was wrong. Find where I said that I thought Eatman was right or anything of the sort.

Since your so big on people finding where you've said something then you do the same. Find where I said anything about what you did with your blog that was negative.

I find nothing wrong with what you do with your radio show or your blog. I don't always agree with your opinions but that's life. That's the way it goes with sports talk. But I've always said, as I did above, that I respect the work and effort you put into your stuff.

The only thing negative I've ever had to say about you, or what you write or say, is that you come off very thin skinned and get extremely defensive the moment anyone doesn't agree with you or doesn't like something you write or say.

You even get defensive, apparently, when a person isn't even saying your wrong.

There is a difference between them being disrespectful to us and them just not acknowledging us. I don't care if they don't acknowledge us. But when they openly try and tell everyone that 'all of the bloggers' are putting out false info and creating stories based on misinformation then I do have a problem with them.

And I wasn't saying you want me in particular gone. What you said was that there are too many people covering sports today. So I gave you an example. Eatman works for the Cowboys so he's not going anywhere because it's his job. I do it for fun so I could easily go away. If that was the case on this particular issue you would have read Eatman's stuff and been misinformed about what actually happened.

The thin skinned comments are ridiculous about me. Why am I thin skinned? Because I don't sit around and go 'yeah, you guys are right and I was wrong'. Why would I do that when I don't feel I am in the wrong? Makes no sense.

We have already seen Dallas come into this thread and tell me to write a retraction. Should I have done so because he wants me to? lol. The dude has no clue what he's talking about yet he wants to pop off. I am not going to sit back and allow him to do so without letting him know he's 100% wrong.

You asked the question about the guys from DC.com. Do they convince fans that the bloggers and guys like ESPNDallas and DMN are not doing good jobs? They sure try to and it's because they are paid by the team. They are not about journalism, but more doing their jobs to sell a product. You are going to find articles over there where negatives are being written about and somehow there's a positive spin worked in to the piece. That's why I called them the high school newspaper.

Dude, DC, I haven't come across more immature, thin skinned poster/blogger whatever you claim to be. YOu like to call people out, but cannot take any negative feedback. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If you don't like being called out, then don't do so either.

I love quite a bit of your video/Audio clips and appreciate the work you do in trying to post all that. But It freaking tiring to see every other thread with your nonsense, about how correct you are and know it all you are, anyone who doesn't agree with you is an idiot or doesn't know what they are talking about.

Yeah, I know I probably shouldn't read stuff that you post if I don't like it, but like I said, I like your clips and other tidbits you post. Get some thick skin dude!

Fair enough.

But trust me on this guys like the people at DC.Com are exactly the folks I can't stand being in the media and covering football.

The problem with the vast majority of media is your getting opinions, breakdowns, and thoughts about games, whats wrong with teams, what player did what wrong on particular plays from folks who never played a snap of football since, at best, high school and don't have a single clue what they're talking about.

For example when those media folks go around saying "Well the WR ran the wrong route on the play."

Really? So you were in the huddle and knew what the play call was? You know what adjustments they had to make, based on what the defense was doing?

No. 99.98% of them have absolutely no idea what they're talking about and it's absolutely annoying for them to talk about such things as if they actually have any real knowledge of what they're speaking on.

I don't mind bloggers, personally, cause for the most part the bloggers out there are simply presenting their opinion. They aren't trying to break things down as if they actually know whats going on when they couldn't possibly have a clue whats being called, whats being done, and so on and so forth.

And the thin skin thing isn't because you won't sit back cause you don't think your wrong. That's fine. Everyone thinks they're right when they post their opinions or say something. The only issue with you is that you get really defensive about things and pretty quickly resort to telling people they're idiots, that they don't know as much as you, that they are this or that.

It just comes off as thin skinned to me. I could be wrong.

So calling people idiots on here is somehow a crazy thing to do, lol.

Are there not idiots on here?

I don't come on here calling random people idiots. The ones who I do go after all the same ol crew of haters who costantly look to take shots.

Half the time they don't even attempt to become a part of the conversation.

Did Dallas or CA become a part of this conversation after coming in and throwing out a few shots at me based on misinformation? No. Of course they didn't. They act like 9 year olds.

So how would you like me to respond to this BS, lol.

If I start barking back you will say I have thin skin. If I don't you will think this BS your are spewing is good advice.

As a grown man I think it's hilarious when some other dude starts spilling out advice like this on a football message board.

You should not have wasted the time. We aren't friends, business associates or family. Why would you even think I would read your post and think about changing who I am in any way, lol.

You do you and I will do me. Simple. Save the advice for your kids, your friends or your family. I'm good.

All you are is a name on the computer. Stop acting like you are anything more as far it concerns me.

You are correct, I don't care either. I am not even sure why you even think I thought that I matter to you. Thats dumb thing to even think of. But I guess based on what you constantly post and rant/rave about, its not that surprising.:D

I respect your opinions on the Cowboys and stuff like that, but as far as telling me who to be as a person - not so much.

After 38 years I is who I is.

And I think you listen to my show so you know I am not a Colin Cowherd. I think sometimes the NY in me and my upbringing gets me in trouble on here. Me and my friends call each other much worse when talking sports than what's written on here. People read these words and get all out of sorts. It's just talking sports so it's not a big deal.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to tell you how to behave. Like I said, not sure why you thought I was, but I guess that might have come across that way. I was only talking about messages on this board. I am not exactly the person as I post on this board nor are most people here.

All I said was, why try to get into so many tiffs with every little thing and take it so seriously, since its after all no one here really knows another person, other than their online personality? Especially when it comes to opinions, we all have ours, we can be stubborn, we all think we are correct obviously. We can just sometimes agree to disagree even if we think other person is idiot to think like that.

Anyway, I will stop my rant or get off my soap box, and let it be. Personally it seems like it gets out of hand here way too much. But maybe thats just me. Maybe I ought to tune it out. So carry on your crusade ;)

When a sports reporter admits he didn't have the facts and apologizes, that's about all he or she can do.

Kudos to you, Nick Eatman.

Yep, props to Eatman. He admitted his mistake, something that a lot of journo's don't do.

When you say someone is very, very, very laidback and they don't follow through with calling young players out, isn't that the same thing as calling them soft? It is to me. I don't see what Eatman had to apologize about?

Skadoosh. This guy loves spending all his time worrying about me on here.

:laugh2:

I am all ready to write that retraction. You just let me know when you find the evidence I used the term 'Soft'.

One more thing.

It's 'you're just a computer name...'.
