Denver Practices Closed To Public
Posted by rphillips at 8/11/2008 1:28 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com
We've gotten a bunch of questions from you guys on whether the Cowboys-Broncos joint practices in the Denver area are open to the public. We learned that the answer is no -- just like last year, when the Broncos visited Valley Ranch for back-to-back two-a-days.
The Cowboys have two more practices here in Oxnard -- one at 2:30 (PDT) this afternoon and another light workout Tuesday morning, followed by their trip to Denver.
The teams will practice twice each on Wednesday and Thursday. The Cowboys will hold a separate workout on Friday, play Saturday night and immediately fly back to Dallas to conclude their three-and-a-half-week camping trip.
Yet the Hard Knocks cameras will still be rolling.

LB Anthony Spencer Missing Practice
Posted by jellis at 8/11/2008 4:16 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com
Outside linebacker Anthony Spencer is not at practice this afternoon and had yet to appear at the practice fields 45 minutes into the workout. Tight end Martellus Bennett was over 30 minutes late coming out of the locker room.
No word yet on a reason for Spencer's absence or Bennett's tardiness - neither player was said to be hurt after Saturday's preseason game in San Diego. The Cowboys gave their players Sunday off and there was no curfew last night.
Bennett missed last Thursday's practice tending to a personal issue.
Cornerback Quincy Butler, who has sat out since July 27 with a hamstring injury, returned to practice today.
Today is a light workout, the players dressed in shorts, shells and helmets. Cornerback Terence Newman (groin) and defensive end Marcus Dixon (back) also sat out practice.
Cowboys coach Wade Phillips is expected to address the Spencer and Bennett issues in his 7:30 p.m. (CDT) press conference.
