I'm not saying that. I am saying so far he has looked the part of a bust.

wow thats amazing...he plays a handful of snaps in the first preseason game, and you say he's looking like a bust?

he's been in the NFL for a few weeks...give him some time before diving off the ledge

Gotta agree here. Too many reports of this kid either "not getting it", or not enough passion/work ethic.

I hope I'm wrong, but this kid has all the makings of working at Dairy Queen in a few years.

I hope Spencer's injury isn't the lingering kind.

I still say Jerry should have ponied up the 2nd and conditional 5th for Jason Taylor, losing any of the 3 rotational OLBs (especially Ware) could prove disastrous for the Cowboys' SB run.

What draft pick isn't a waste of a pick until proven otherwise?

It's a bone bruise. You've likely bruised a bone before and didnt even realize it. If that's all it is he'll be back at practice within a day or two.

anybody that believed he was going to come from that offense at Texas A&M and easily pick up an NFL playbook over night was definitely expecting way too much

he has alot to learn and needs to get bigger & stronger, he clearly has alot of ability though

David

That offense he was in at A&M was Jr. High level, seriously. At times it looked like the QB was drawing the play in the dirt during each huddle, it was that basic.

I have seen more sophisticated playbooks on Madden, it was that bad fellas.

Not really surprised he is having a problem learning Red's "mad scientist" playbook.

Too often we place expectations that could only be compared to instant mashed potatoes. We can't just add water and stir with these guys. They need more than 10 days and one pre-season game to determine their worth.

We can always use the Bill Parcells draft excuse.....

so we missed on Bennett......but we hit big on Orlando Scandrick in the 5th round

my bad....that doesnt apply to Jerry Jones :)

What bothers me is the media reports coming out of camp that the guy doesnt pay attention in practice, doesnt know the plays (granted A&M's playbook was Jr. High level), drops easy passes, doesnt try to block very hard, and now shows up half-hour late for practice today.

If he was going balls to the wall every play in practice and just not getting in done in games would be one thing, but to suck on the field and have all these reports that suggest you really dont care that much to be here is what alot of fans are getting pissed about and throwing around BUST label.

Part of the media reports include an "observation" by Peter King that would be the equivalent of an English Schoolmaster accusing a student of "slouching". Unless the guy prances around like Dudley Doo-Right, King proclaims him to be a slacker. King's minions (the drunken press) jump on the band wagon and Bennett is banished to TE Purgatory. Let's not be King's minions. Let's be our own minions instead. ;)

These kinds of reports have been coming from other bloggers as well. I can't think of one of the half dozen I read who has not mentioned it.

Its like the old saying: "If 25 people tell you you are drunk, its time to borrow a quarter and lay down in the gutter"

Were you expecting Jason Witten 2.0 in a matter of a months time?

Hopefully the Spencer injury isn't too serious.
