do they not constantly have leg problems? you really are butthurt about the Raiders fans:laugh2:

WRs pull quad and hamstring muscles. So it goes.

Seriously, Rampage, I didn't remember which wangsta-who'd-never-been-to-Oakland was spouting off about how their fans behave when you exit the stadium. You're one of 4-5 posters on the board that I've lumped into that category and I don't bother to try to tell you guys apart unless any of you distinguish yourselves by saying something interesting or worthwhile. When that happens, I'll send you a PM to let you know.

Me teasing you about not knowing what a hamstring was was just incidental ribbing. It wasn't personal.

The facts are that 40% of the WR's on this team have missed time in the last two years because of leg problems.

Both have shown flashes, but that doesn't change the fact they have difficulty staying healthy.

Unless Dallas finds a gem on the waiver wire, the team is heading into the season with two players they can't be overly confident in completing the season without a ding.

Smart money would have bought a FA who still had skills to be a mentor to the young guys and still produce as a safety valve in case the history on Hurd and Austin continues going forward.

This is not a whine nor an over-reaction.

Simply put we are heading into a season of promise with health and skill questions about a significant part of our WR squad.

What's an example of a team who can be overly confident that their WRs will complete the season without a ding? Someone who doesn't have health or skill questions about their WR squad?

The Patriots, who look to be in the hunt. The Colts. Green Bay.

The point is skill positions on offense are the people who do the scoring. For this offense to fully function as a unit, it will take contributions from all the WR.

I understand the inherent risk of injury and that it can rob a season from even the deepest teams.

But this is an issue that could and should have been addressed in the off season. The fact that Jones the GM allowed us to enter a season in such a tenuous position doesn't seem to me to be very forward thinking.

He is rolling the dice on this as well as the offensive line and perhaps the cornerback position.

I get you can't have steak on every plate. But we have seen this before. When will he learn?

The Colts have one WR who's been active for every game the last two seasons on their roster. Pats have Moss and Greg Lewis who've been healthy, but are also relying on Galloway who's missed 8 games the last two seasons. Green Bay's got three WRs who've missed multiple games the last two seasons.

Unless you think injuries like high ankle sprains are chronic, we're at no great risk to injury at the WR position than any other team. We're legitimately 5-deep, our players are all in their twenties, and most of them play more than one position, giving us plenty of flexibility in event of injury.

Remind me again of Wes Welkers injury? Looks like he has played ther last three years for the pats without an injury.

We've had enough history to suggest both Hurd and Austin have had leg injuries that keep them off the field.

Again this year we see the same results.

I carry a spare tire in my car incase of emergency.

Evidently Jerry just calls the auto club.

But with the trouble we had incorporating RW11 into the offense after the season started last year, one would think a Plan B would have evolved to insure we don't get bit again getting caught short.

But I sppose that is too much to ask.

Everytime Jerry poor-boys it, I don't recall it ever working out for us.

Is a hamstring supposed to be a tendon, or a joint in this scenario?

I'm going with tendon. Makes more sense since the hamstring actually HAS a tendon to attach it to bone. I've seen MUCH worse from actual sports writers who love to report on ligament "strains" and muscle "sprains" (it's the opposite).
