I don't understand why TO making comments should have any effect on our locker room. Is he part of our locker room? Is he a somehow still a Cowboy and I didn't realize it? This article is just stupid.

Running his mouth?

Seems to me he was asked why he was released and he has an idea about why he was released. That nothing more than an honest answer to a question.

Because the Cowboys, and Romo in particular, cannot afford for the specter of Owens to linger into next season and beyond.

The only reason this will linger is if the media keeps harping on it. Get a friggin' grip and let it go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owens is what he is, and what he is, unfortunately, is a nasty piece of work. He's the kind of guy who has the charisma and the stature to develop a group of "friends," and he has sufficiently low character to use that skill as a weapon against those he perceives to oppose him. A nasty piece of work.

I agree with Woody's Girl. Romo should go out of his way to praise Owens for his skill and performance while in Dallas. Some in the locker room likely will be watching. That's reality.

Why is a writer from the official team site imploring Romo to get involving in this nonsense?

The best approach is to say nothing.
To show that it is an unbiased source of information?

Yeah, I don't know..

Are you kidding me? REally? He actually needed to say TO, or Terrell, in response to a question about TO?

Good Lord. The Media and TO are both stupid and pathetic.

I understand how its perceived as self-serving advice from the reporter but nevertheless it is good advice. Be kind, address him by name (only because that became such a big deal in the media) and thereby dampen this flame rather than letting it grow bigger.

Romo doesn't need to apologize for anything. He just needs to continue focusing on his team and teammates. Not some AFC East clown.

Or how about this. Don't talk about him at all? He's not important to the 2009 Dallas Cowboys. He's no longer here.

Why should Romo have to be nice, and polite, and bend over backwards to make sure he doesn't say anything to offend some diva reciever who doesn't even play for the Cowboys anymore?

It sure didn't bother TO to blame Tony for his release from Dallas. Maybe TO, and the media, could take that advice instead and learn to keep their own mouths shut.

Romo should just focus on his job here and not care what the media wants to know about, in regards to TO, and not worry about what TO might, or might not, t hink about the fact that he didn't say TO every time he answered a question.

This is so crazy. From now on, Tony should just full name him. I love me some Terrell Eldorado Owens. Terrell Eldorado Owens is the best.

If Romo where to replace the star on his helmet with a picture of TO and kiss it every time he made a play TO would still find a way to be offended by it

I agree.

Romo showed class and took the high road, and now he's getting hammered for not "saying his name".

I guess using a pronoun to describe "the omnipotent one" is blaspheme.

Having the team web site buy into this nonsense is disappointing to say the least.

However, I've been reading how trading Anthony Henry and turning Ellis loose was/is a mistake, and Felix Jones shouldn't be getting carries from them, so I shouldn't be surprised.

That's a good Plan B. But when one has truly moved on with their focus (and I would sure think Tony has) then there certainly is no harm in throwing out a few compliments and moving one. I actually think thta is more likely to end the media's fascination than pure silence. Silence often fuels speculation.

But as I said, I'm ok with being mute on the issue as a Plan B.

"Dude, I could care less," Owens said Wednesday. "I mean, he doesn't mention my name, that's fine. What about it? Bill Parcells didn't call me by my name either, so what's the difference?"
Should Tony feel slighted? That's how ridiculous this is getting. Damn mediots.

I feel slighted because you didn't include my name in your quote to acknowledge that you got the quote from the original post.

I'm really hurt.

Has Jeff Garcia ever truly moved past the TO incidents? Every time something new pops up his name is mentioned again with the whole gay allegations. McNabb has never escaped it.

Romo won't either. They seem to wear a TO stain for life.

If I'm Romo, then I'll say T.O.'s full name in every way possible.

"Terrell Eldorado Owens is a great player."

"I think Terrell Eldorado Owens is a HOF-level player."

"Terrell Eldorado Owens was a great player for Dallas."

"I wish Terrell Eldorado Owens the best in Buffalo."
Fixed.
