now they're emphasizing tackling from the corners

1st it was emphasizing special teams play

seriously, it's been ridiculous

Kind of makes you wonder what they were doing in training camp.

1. Didn't spend much time on blitzing to ward off injuries.

2. Obviously didn't spend much time on tackling but they're getting to it now.

3. Sure didn't give any attention to the 2-minute defense.

4. Hard to say they spent a lot of time defending the pass.

Really, if it weren't for the running game and special teams you'd almost think they didn't even have training camp this year.

Another problem is they don't make the high light reel either. Wouldn't it be great to have a db (cb or s) that could cover and make the high light reel both?

Sure they do, not their own, but they make *a* highlight reel. Usually it's the receiver's (sometimes the RB's) as our secondary makes them look like an unstoppable/untackleable (is that a word? if not it is now) force.

yep, IMO the sloppy tackling goes back to the decision during training camp to limit full contract/tackling. I understand the concern about keeping players healthy, but looks like poor/sloppy tackling early in the season is the tradeoff?

let's hope this week is better.

Why is it only a priority this week? This has been a poor tackling team for years.

Exactly! Why this week?

Campo should be giving his checks to charity.

And maybe if Wade let these guys tackle in the preseason we wouldn't have to wait until Week Four or later until the secondary starts tackling like NFL players.

Yeah, secondary (tackling) was atrocious last week. It's got to get better. We need to start playing up more & bumping those guys. It gives the line a chance to get upfield & it takes those quick dump offs out of the equation. Of course, it would help to get better safety support when they do play tight.

This playing soft business is also affecting our pressure on the QB. If we play em tight and send in a blitz we may get back to last years form. My guess is that Campo has them playing soft because he doesn't quite trust Jenkins and Scandrick just yet. To me that's more reason to man em up, get them in the mix now. Sooner or later the QB is gonna make a mistake and throw a pick or we're gonna get our sacks...
