"Bad" is relative.
There's no argument which can be made for Green and Stanley. They haven't contributed much both here or elsewhere.
Hatcher, Watkins and McQuistan provide depth at their respective positions. Not the worst tradeoff when considering where they were drafted.
Fasano's been a 16-game per season contributor both here and in Miami. Superstar? Nah, but he has/is making some offensive plays--moreso with the Dolphins.
Carpenter hasn't lived up to his draft selection. Another no argument, but the door hasn't slammed shut on him. Yet.
How Whitley can be factored into the evaluation as a negative is a mystery. His level of play cannot be measured since he never had a chance to show what he could do on the field.
Was '06 a great draft? Nope. Good is also a reach, but average isn't and average isn't neither poor nor bad in my opinion.
C'mon DE, I don't care who's relative "bad" is, that was a bad draft.
Not one Cowboys' starter came out of that draft, and it is very unlikely that more than than two of those draft picks will still be on the team at the start of regular season.
I am still rooting for Watkins tho, if he can figure out how to tackle, he can still have a long career in the NFL, maybe not at SS (more natural FS IMO) but definitely on ST. He is a better STer than Carpenter, by far. Like Carpenter, Watkins has impressive measurables (height, size, speed), but unlike Carpenter, he is willing to stick his nose into things, very physical for his slight frame. Watkins' biggest problem is between the ears (not the size of his heart), he needs to understand the safety position better (getting there, was a multiple game starter at both FS and SS) and learn how to f'ing tackle w/out breaking his neck.
