Orlando Scandrick tried to accept as much of the blame for Sunday's loss to the Giants as he could, admitting Monday morning he couldn't sleep after what he considers his worst game ever.

It's probably the most inconsistent we've seen Scandrick play since he got to Dallas, particularly the issues he had tackling.

Wade Phillips, for one, believes the steal of last year's draft will recover and come back to play nicely despite admitting he had been thinking too much during the game, and hadn't had a good week of preparation.

"He's got the right attitude I think," Phillips said. "So I think he'll bounce back. And he'll work on things he needs to work on, and we'll point those things out."

Scandrick's confidence and swagger have been some of his most positive traits. How he recovers from one bad game will be interesting to watch.

Mike Jenkins will likely start opposite Terence Newman on Monday night, assuming the Cowboys continue their right cornerback rotation.

if it's me I start scandrick, if he performs he is the starter, he fails that was his last chance till training camp next season. Back in the slot.

Sorry if it was me I stick to the plan and start Jenkins and if he has a solid game then he keeps the job

Sorry if its me I'd listen to the first part of your statement and stick with the plan so both get a redeeming game before calling a starter how bout that?

Jenkins doesn't need a redeeming game. He played pretty cool against Tampa.

So one guy is going to bounce back...great. How about the other 10 guys who stunk it up? Any of them going to recover...because unless they all recover, it doesn't matter. If we continue our defensive play from the first two games, we will get a high draft pick next year.

So grow a set and name a damn starter so that person can get the starter's reps and be prepared. Ridiculous-A head coach who cant make a gut check decision.

Yeah, that is the same head coach who left his defense exhausted and hanging with three time out's on the board during the last midget drive. :bang2:

The irony of your avatar surely can't escape you.

Alas, you caught me in a baited trap of my own creation. I shall regress....

I don't blame Newman or Scandrick for their bad play. I blame Wade. Wade has made a mess of this defense. There is way to much talent on this defense to be giving up an average of 430 yards a game with no sacks or turnovers and poor tackling. :bang2:

You should probably think about blaming the players more. Missing basic tackles and letting your man run free on one on one coverage is the player's issue.

I can't really decide what I think about Scandrick and Jenkins switching off each game, but there's something about Scandrick that I really like.

I do think we have two talented young corners that have a lot of potential though.

The line that sticks out here with me is that Scandrick didn't have a good week of preparation.

While many here are quick to blame Wade Phillips for everything under the roof of Cowboys Stadium, the preparation of the defensive players does in fact rest squarely on Wade's shoulders, and for a divisional opponent there is absolutely no excuse for a starting defensive player to be unprepared. Zero.

Nice catch. I wasn't around then... but I know what Landry did with those QB's.
