And it almost certainly will be TE or some soft position like RB. Players fall because they play those positions or have injuries or have character issues, and only very occasionally because they were mis-evaluated at large.

Jace Amaro and Eric Ebron are the best TE's in this class and both expected to be major factors in the NFL.
Amaro is absolutely terrific as a receiving TE.
I mean he was worthy of consideration as the best WR in college football last year... as a 6'5" 265 pound TE....
He is a beast from San Antonio and Texas Tech.

But man the Cowboys can not spend a high pick at TE without calling in the National guard to protect Valley Ranch.

The Cowboys should have about 5 positions where they'd select a walk in start and you'd like to take one of those in R1.
If they are not at the top of your board then you can and probably should trade down to where they are.

I wouldn't have a hissy about him. But I wouldn't take him too high.

Exactly right. Teams that try to use the draft to fill needs end up being the most needy teams in the league every year.

Of course need factors in with similar rated prospects but it never should trump BPA.

We're saying the same thing in different ways. My only difference might be I don't see how to absolutely judge players as 1-100. I only see players in tiers with a loose ranking in a tier.

OK...So you draft Ford. Who are you gonna bench? Selvie? Ware? I can't see us drafting a guy that would be a part time player. We need someone that is gonna give us snaps...and have an impact.

Ware barley plays all 3 downs and Marinelli likes to rotate anyway. If Ford can outperform Ware them so be it
