IRVING, Texas – While the Cowboys are getting relatively healthy as a team, there were some noticeable absences during practice on Thursday at Valley Ranch.

The most surprising no-show, at least from the portion of practice open to the media, was defensive end Greg Hardy, who has an illness. The Cowboys’ team officials didn’t sound too concerned with his availability for Sunday’s game with the Giants despite him not practicing Thursday.

Hardy had a quite a season and Cowboys debut against the Patriots two weeks ago with two sacks and five quarterback pressures.

One player who did make his way on the field was Dez Bryant, who came out to work on his conditioning drills. Bryant has yet to actually practice with the team but at least came out in his uniform, shells and helmet. His status for Sunday remains unclear but with each day he doesn’t practice in the team period or even individual drills, it’s looking more unlikely that he will play this week.

Bryant suffered the fracture foot in Week 1 against the Giants and has missed the last four games.

  • Rookie offensive tackle Chaz Green got some conditioning work in on the side practice field. The third-round pick remains on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list which stems from hip surgery he had this offseason. If he were healthy, Green could be eligible to play this week, but it appears the Cowboys will utilize these next two weeks to see if he can return to practice.

Really want Chaz to get on the field this year to see what they have.

They won't let him play unless Free keels over dead. They'll likely keep Free as the starter regardless of how bad it gets and it's already really bad. Garrett is attached to Free.

If you're implying that he's attached to Randle, that is just not true. Garrett would have kept Murray. It was the front office that made the decision to let Murray move on. Garrett almost cut Randle last year but Dez and Romo voiced their opinion in favor of keeping him after his incident(s). If Garrett had a better option he would be happy to move on from Randle.

. I was pointing out there are a few players he's like that with and not just Free.. Like The Golden Cock, or Church, Carr, Jones, Heath just to name a few.

Your Randle comment isn't entirely true. They had plenty of chances to move on from him and they didn't.
1.He was stolen goods from a retail store
2.Threw Dez under the bus
3.Got into some type of domestic situation with his GF
4.Opens his mouth about Murray and the meat on the bone
5. Insubordnation on the football field
6. He an immature dude whose Talent is not first rd

Yes IMO he is attached to Randle for whatever the reason maybe. Not like hes a HOF player who warrants that kind of respect to be kept on the team.

When Garrett had a better option, he used it. The front office even encouraged him to give Randle more carries last year and he would not do it.
2014
Murray 392 carries
Randle 51 carries

Garrett does not get too involved in the defensive roster. Most of that is between Marinelli and the front office. Garrett was on board with Ciscowski's plan to draft Floyd but Marinelli told Jerry/Stephen that Floyd was not that great and Jerry overruled Garrett/Ciscowski.

Garrett's favs have been Romo, Witten, Free and Murray. They hang out together in the off-season.
Romo: Garrett would not stop Romo from calling an audible to change runs to passes until Linehan arrived and Jerry/Stephen insisted that Linehan stick to the run.
Witten: Still plays 100% of the snaps even in blow out win or losses. Even played most of the snaps in the final meaningless game last season.
Murray: Garrett let Murray decide when he was in or out of the game which resulted in an unnecessary 392 rushing attempts in Murray contract season.
Free: Garrett fought with OL coach Callahan who wanted to start Parnell and bench Free. He had Free return to his starting position last season before he was ready and he just re-injured himself. He did this despite the fact that the backup was playing better than Free.

Does that sound like good coaching to you?

Corso you need to get down to Dallas and get this team right !!! To be the man, they need the man !!!! Whooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I would be fired after Jerry sees the covert construction of the New White House at the new practice field...
I wouldn't be there long enough to get on their medical insurance...
