What are your thoughts regarding the hiring of the DC? Must he be a 3-4 guy? If not, do we need to make a lot of player moves to go to a 4-3? My thoughts are that I don't care if he is a 3-4 or 4-3 guy. I'm more concerned that it is, most importantly, someone Jason wants and that he is an aggresive guy who has his D playing with high energy. I personally would love to see an attacking D that makes things happen. Do we have those type of guys (other than DWare)?

can't think of anyone on our D (maybe some DEs) who would not do well attacking--I too hope we get a young energetic guy with some imagination

That's what I'm thinking .... run a D that forces the action.

I prefer a agressive defense that dictates (to a degree) what an offense can do.

One of the many reasons I was glad to see Zimmer leave.

But the 90's Cowboys offense didn't listen to defenses, they did what they wanted to do regardless of what the other D wanted them to do.

A stout Oline powering an offense that can run when it wants to and with big play weapons at every position will cancel out the best defenses every time.

Too bad we just lack the Oline part.

My point exactly. How many offenses are like that in the NFL? I don't htink there are many. You are so right about the OLine part.

You want a more aggressive defense...?

Dennis Thurman - Jets secondary coach
Keith Butler - Steelers linebackers coach
Chuck Pagano - Ravens secondary coach

All three should be interviewed for the job IMO.

I would add:
Carrier - DL coach of Jets
Patricia - LB coach of Pats
Peppers - DL coach of Pats
Green - LB coach of Packers
