News: DC: Spagnola: Defensive End Once Again Is Holding This Franchise Hostage

as bad as they need a DE there are plenty of other positions in need of a play maker upgrade. Fill the needs that you can with BPA and hope that it makes up for the deficit at DE... or maybe you get lucky with a later pick at DE... or maybe they like Bosa more than the mediots know, Watt isnt a quick twitch guy either.

If this piece of drivel isn't announcing to Cowboys fans to start loving Joey Bosa, I don't know what is.

Got to love the "darn you Randy Gregory" part. Like our front office is some victim.

I'm not usually singing from the same sheet of music as you are, but you are probably spot on with this one.

Of course they are a victim. They paid him good money to perform and follow the rules. It's fair and reasonable for them to expect that although they'd be beyond naive to be surprised at his failure. The club didn't break their covenant.

I get your point they brought this on themselves and I agree in part. The club must accept getting stung by the scorpion but they are not responsible for the player's conduct. He and only he is.

DE doesnt need to come in RD1.

Kevin Dodd
Noah Spence
Matt Judon

3 guys im looking at with hopes

we should be signing Hardy to another one year deal....he would instantly be our best DL. and we won't have to take a DE at #4.

Plus with Thornton in the middle we should push the pocket this season giving hardy and Dlaw better chance to get to the QB

When it comes down to it we have 5 guys who can play DE as it is. Most of them flashed potential or better. You want another guy to consistently beat iso's and draw double teams but DLaw, Mayowa, Crawford, Russell, and Gregory is not a bad stable. The stable just lacks frontend talent unless someone like Russell, Gregory, or Mayowa emerges.

Pairing DLaw with someone who on paper is of equal talent is ideal but hostage implies desperation and that is never a good mindset for decisionmaking.

Spags already pimping Bosa

Just what we need, a DE that can't get sacks

He's actually pretty clearly not a fan of Bosa, if you hear him talk about him as an option.

And Gregory, of course, is responsible for his own actions re: the substance testing. Not sure why we'd give him a pass for that. The reality is, we've got candidates for rush end, but nobody proven and nobody dependable.

Left off Irving who is a 3/5/7

The front office gave up a 2nd and 3rd for Dlaw saying he was the only right/weak side de left.If he can't be moved and a strong side end found (in any round) then we should have drafted Kony Ealy and kept our 3rd round pick.

Hardy needs to take a bended knee and have Garrett accept it. That may be too much for either though. There are projects outside the first who could help but it is always unlikely for a first year DE to come in and light it up although you can get a very good contributor on occasion.

Jobberone I can except a DE rookie not being productive in his first year only because I don't see this as a 1 year fix I belive this thing is a 2yr program we can't fill all our holes in one draft

So add Mickey Spags to the long list of Mediots claiming that we are one rushing-end away from being where we need to be this year and believe that a rookie, that is projected to be a LDE, is the answer. What rookie DE has come in, skipped his NFL learning curve and tore it up in the pass rushing department his rookie year? No...if Mick had been concerned about our position at RDE, he should've had some scathing articles about not jumping on some veteran RDEs we passed on this offseason (which I wasn't opposed to at all considering the $$ being thrown around). This mouthpiece, that only breathes when Jerry shuffles his junk, who's incapable of independent thought, should not be given an ounce of credibility. Scum. I should add that I'm not too high on that bumbling, pompous Broadus, either.

I was making a statement about the history of first year DEs who often have a period of adjustment coming into the league. I see a lot of people thinking of an immediate large impact and that just doesn't happen often to my recollection.

Have to admit I don't understand although I'm reasonably certain I should. :)

Just a grateful dead song reference :D

Really had to move. That's why if you please. I am on my bended knees. Bertha don't you come around here anymore

Ignore a position long enough and it will hold you hostage. Pass rushing defensive end is a premiere position and we try to solve it with second and third day draft picks and low cost free agents.
