What was the name? I can't hear the show.
Reggie Herring, and we'll end up with a new LB Coach.

You heard it here first.

I think that is why he has stalled on accepting the Oklahoma State job.

I think it would be Grantham before Herring. Herring's been a college guy his whole life except for a couple years with the Texans. At least Grantham has done it in the pros, even if it didn't go that well.

But, I bet there's a decent chance it is someone totally new.

I'm just praying it isn't Campo. Please Baby Jesus let it not be him.

you guys are like dallas cowboys therapy............don't know what i would do without listening to your show.

its far better then listening to "talkin cowboys" or any of the other shows on dallascowboys.com

you need real fans with passion to have an honest debate over what needs to happen.

Thanks man. I love hearing that from the people listening to the shows because that's what we are trying to bring to you guys.

We know we aren't coming from broadcasting 101, but we can be entertaining too. And if we are die hards and informed enough we should put on a good enough show that people come back for the next one.

Just saying -- We got "gutted" on the defensive side last year at DL, LB, and DB coach... And our defense got better.
I don't know how much better this defense was. I'll give you we sacked the qb more than in 2007. But the defense went from 9th in the league to 8th, the pass defense was slightly better, the run defense slighly worse.

The most important stats, imo, points allowed and turnovers forced the Cowboys were appreciably worse. They allowed 40 more points and forced 7 less turnovers. I don't think the defense was any better this year, its a good but not dominant outfit.

If Wade's really staying as HC, the new DC is gonna have just a title and no real FT role in playcalling.

I firmly believe Jerry will make sure Wade does it FT next yr, especially after the defense finally did show signs of being excellent once he took it over. They just need to figure out how to get more turnovers.

So really, it doesnt matter who is named DC.

The points are skewed, though, because those include points our special teams and offense gave up. It's a dumb and lazy way of doing that stat, but that's the way they do it.

Still, from the time Wade took over, our D was better than last year.

Even if you insist it wasn't any better, the point stands that losing most of the coaches from our defense didn't doom us to backsliding on that side of the ball.

I think that's a fair point. But a DC is still going to be teaching the gameplan, etc.

ok, I should have thought out your OP more before posting. Losing the coaches really didn't impact the D.

And the D hit a stretch there from Tampa to the 2nd Giants game where it seemed to be getting to the point of being that defense that can control the game. Then those 2 Ravens runs, which I haven't got over and likely won't, but a real damper on things.
