Scouting Report

Jordan is made to play defensive end in a 3-4 defense. He’s 6’4”, 280 pounds with a solid frame which could add a little bulk. At that size, he’d be a pure run-stuffing defensive end in a 4-3, but in the Cowboys’ scheme, he’s actually a bit “undersized.” For a defense in desperate need of some pass-rushing ability from the linemen, that could be a positive.

Jordan would be a “finesse” 3-4 end, using his quickness to get to the quarterback. His swim move is one of the best I’ve seen coming out of college, and he uses the spin move well too. He can get neutralized at times, but that never happens when he doesn’t lose his leverage (something that takes place when he is ineffective with a finesse move). Still, I think his athleticism and strength will be more than enough to hold up against the run.

Jordan also has experience in a 3-4 defense, which is always a positive. Overall, I’m pretty high on this kid. Although he needs to play under control more often, I’ll take a high motor guy over one who disappears on film any day of the week. I’ve watched a handful of Jordan’s games, and I don’t see much bad tape.

Note, I posted about 5 players from DallasCowboysTimes, say if we can get Jordan DE and Solder OT in first 2 rounds I would be extremely happy, or some other DE or Patrick Peterson CB/S with Solder, again, would be very happy.

Jordan is on my short list. He's always described as a high motor guy with a good football IQ. Gimmie those two qualtities with at least average athleticisim, and I'll take it every time. If we got him, put him between Rat (NT) and Ware (OLB) and you have a terror on that side of the line.

Unfortunately, there is no value on the offensive side of the ball for us. The only offensive player I would even look at in the top 10 for our team is maybe AJ Green but he won't go outside of the top 5 (if not 3). So, I think we go defense. I think I am still leaning towards CB (Prince or PP) if available. But if they are not, I am looking at Dareus, Cam Jordan, Paea, and.... hard to say it... Fairley (although I really, really, really don't want to take a knucklehead like him unless we are certain he can get his head on straight, and I really, really, really hope everyone is right that he goes top 5 because I do not want to be in the position to pass on a knucklehead who probably will be productive).

I love this player and think would fit in very well. As much as I want an OT, I just cant imagine taking one as high as #9

Yeah, it's really bad luck for us this year.

Over the last 5 years, the first round has been filled with first round talent OT and Safeties The one year we are drafting there and need that, there aren't any of either.
