Tapper will not have anything to contribute THIS season (or postseason). He's a rook, not in game shape and is rusty as all hell. And that's IF he's even 100%. Lael makes more sense as the IR designee to return, especially with the Big Owie (Chaz Green) rumored to be going to IR.
The same was said about Demarcus Lawrence, and he contributed significantly in the playoffs.

But considering the relative low standard we have,Tapper could possibly come in and instantly be our best pass rusher. How many sacks does he need to take over as our leading sacked? Like 3?

T Crawford has like 5

Tap TapDaddy Tapster Chap Chuck, or when in doubt go with "Bubba"

His twitter handle is "TakeFlightChuck"

They call him Trapper John, actually. I think because it sounds like 'Tapper.'

I don't get the deal with this guy. He's got a congenital condition they couldn't treat surgically. Does he just come back healthy all of a sudden after aggravating it and have a normal career now? Or is this something he always struggles with that will always be a limiting factor? I'd been assuming the 2nd all along here.

I thought only one IR could return and that was going to be Collins.

fluid situation. In normal circumstances you wouldn't rush Collins back because that is fairly serious injury. But if Chaz Green can't play thru his herniated disc problem then Dallas will need to pull Collins to active roster for playoffs. Now if Chaz Green can play thru injury (cough) then Dallas has luxury of keeping Collins on IR and bring up the bigger need of pass rusher.

Whatever snaps that he could get, depending who comes back from IR, gets him a feel for speed of the game and what he has to do to really contribute next year...........

I thought MMA's Connor McGregor was known as the Tapper

That is what Floyd Mayweather said

Could be huge if he comes in ready for our playoff run.

The thought is probably a lot better than the reality.

Tapper is not some beastly pass rusher. If he was he would have been drafted much higher.

Hard to say really. He wasn't used by Oklahoma as a pass rusher, so his lack of stats wouldn't stand out when it comes to his draft status. His physical attributes make him appear to be a much better fit at what we would be asking him to do....pin his ears back and get to the QB.

The chance for significant improvement is definitely more possible at DE than it is at OL, when you consider Looney is still the likely game day active since he plays center and then we likely get Cleary as the swing OT unless the Cowboys ever suggest they would put Collins or Martin at RT in the event of an injury there.

Absolutely. Even if Tapper comes back, we're talking about someone playing 8-15 snaps. An OL going down now can take down the offense. Collins can basically backup 3 to 4 positions on the OL and has to be better than Looney as a 3rd TE in that stupid short yardage package.

Not even a decision unless we lose a bunch of DEs these last few games.
It really depends on how healthy each one of them really is at this point. I would be very careful with Collins. Those toe injuries and become chronic problems if re-injured.
