DT Lewis Neal

Cowboys Website: 6'0", 298

Draft: 6'-1/2", 261

He looks much heavier than 261 to me.

If he is anywhere close to 261, then he's going to have a hard time holding up against the run in the NFL at DT.

I think the only reasonable explanation is that he hasn't dropped a duece since May.

From a rough eyeball test he seems like is around 280. I don't see him getting a lot of reps this year (but making the 53) but next year he could add weight in the conditioning program and be an excellent DT. He has some line skills that can't be taught.

I remember when we singed him to an UDFA contract i read an article on how high character he is and how he started his own successful business. So shouldnt be surprised if hes successful at whatever he does.

Hard work breeds success most times if all else is equal. And sometimes even when all things arent equal..lol... My point is he's not going down without a fight and I for one find it hard not to pull for the dude.

The Cowboys' training camp guide (which I ordered through the team's shop) lists Neal at 280 pounds. At any rate, I guess these guys' weight goes up and down throughout practices, etc.
