Cameron Heyward, son of Iron Heyward, has a nonstop motor that would fit well as 3-4 DE in Dallas' system. Draft experts projects Cameron to be select in the 3rd or 4th Round; however, his stock may rise after tonight’s game.

Cameron is solid against the run and has good pass rushing skills. He would be a solid replacement for Igor.

2nd or 3rd round? I'm hearing mid to late 1st round...

that was the case going into the season, but now he won't sniff round 1. would be lucky to sniff round 2.

We shall see, I'm still hearing mid to late 1st round.

Heyward is 6'5" 288 lbs it looks like he'd have to put on a little bit of weight, but i think he could do it without losing anything.

Love his motor. It'd be nice if he could get up around 295-300 lbs though.

I see some projecting him in the first or second round though, are you sure his projection is 3rd or 4th round?

Cameron would bring intensity and motivation on Dallas' Defense. The kid has heart.

Early to Mid Second Round. 8 months ago I was hoping Dallas would just have a shot at him in Round 1 but thought it was a pipe dream. Now I'm not sure I would like the pick unless he slips to round 3.

Wouldn't be a bad second round pick it looks like, as long as we get OL in the first round or get 2 second round picks or something.

Dogo have you followed Heyward at all? Think he could afford to put on weight and still be as effective?

heyward looks like he would get run over in the nfl at that weight as a DE we already have a light weight NT having a light weight DE would be just asking for our run D to suffer and just allowing lineman to easily get to our linebackers.

Yea we really need to move Rat to DE. I'd love to get a kid with a high motor and lots of intensity and passion for the game, but we need our DE's to be near or above 300 lbs. and our NT to be near or above 330. Bigger and stronger always wins in the trenches.

He has the frame to add weight. He's very quick and has a nice burst for someone his size. He could easily add 20-25 pounds and still be quick for a man that size.

He is more powerful in the lower body then upper body which is why I'm concerned with a move to DE early in his career. He will benefit from a year in a NFL weight program. He might serve best as a spot player at DT in a 4-3 early in his career but i think his long terms prospect is as a 3-4 DE.

If he could do it without losing that quickness, then i'd be all for picking him in the second. We could always rotate him with Rat or Bowen/Spears his first year to let him get acclimated.

I would love for use to get a physical and tough presence on the oline like the steelers and ravens. I would love to get someone thats 330+ and just a tough SOB. That will work wonders to our defense.

Gabe watson might be a FA this year. Wonder how he would look?

I always thought the book on him was he could be lazy.

I'd rather get someone through the draft that will come in hungry..

If we sign someone i'd like Paul Soliai from the Dolphins if he becomes available.

No way he slips out of the first round. If by some act of god he does, I do what it takes to move up and get him. He is a perfect 3-4 DE and DT when we go nickle.

He'll be a 1st round pick, I've been told by a few... Man think about him and Ratliff at DE, wowsers!!!

I'll concede that he was used out of place as a 4-3 end and I do think he's a much better fit as a 3-4 end, but there's no way tonight's game makes up for an entire season of averege play. I think going into tonight he has like 1.5 sacks for the season.

He may prove to be a steal, but there's no way he goes in round 1.

Didn't he have like 44 tackles and 10 TFL too though? Its not all about sacks for me. He did have 7 sacks last year though. Hopefully he'll fall and we can snatch him up in the 2nd or early 3rd though.

I really doubt he can put on much weight without it affecting his quickness. OSU has one of the best weight programs in college football and if you look at others that have come out from OSU they have not gained much weight as pros.
