it seems like we have the slowest starting and back up DE's in the nfl.

Sad gregory is so stupid and stuck on weed. We could really use him right now.
The have SDE at WDE and a DT at SDE.

The backup Mayowa has speed but lacks strength or moves.

We need pure speed rushers. When you play indoors and have an offense that can usually play with a lead, you need speed on the DLine. Think of Mathis and Freeney on the Colts, Leonard Little on the Rams. Those guys may not have been the best at playing the run but they knew how to get after the QB with the speed rush.

They've played a ton of games in a short time span for one, and two, there's not a ton of talent. I don't know what people are expecting Marinelli to do with guys taken from other team's bargain bins. Like him or not, Hardy helped draw a lot of attention and made it easier for Lawrence.

Do you think if we acquired a good quality DE to rush the passer that Lawrence would be good enough on the off side?

Yes. Marinelli quoted stats that showed when Greg Hardy drew double teams that Lawrence was very successful on the Left side in 2015.

We need our money back from Crawford. He can't change directions to save his life and half the time I forget he's on the team.

considering the defense is playing 3 DTs and 1 DE in their starter package. We all knew T. Crawford was not going to do much as DE, he was drafted as DE but after the switch to 4-3 he lacked any type of explosiveness to be an effective pass rusher out of the DE position that is why he is 3T DT and got that contract because he was very good at being a 3T. So with T. Crawford playing SDE they have to move Lawrence to WDE where that is not his strength, So you have two guys playing out of position because they are your 2 best guys at the DE position.

DL plays hard. The guys have motors, just not the talent. If there's anything to ***** about going forward, it will be the DL play through the playoffs. The level of intensity kicks up a notch in the post season. Will someone on the DL step up by then?

I thought that would be your position. I tend to think so too. Lawrence could probably be as good as "Almost Anthony" Spencer. One really good defensive end might be enough to make a significant difference in the performance of this line.

I think the DTs are good enough but am not opposed to upgrading that area too.

Quit complaining. Quit being so negative. 11-1.

Crawford might be a guy who we could look to trade in the off season. He might be a pretty good 3-4 DE which is what we drafted him to do. Maybe we could trade him to a team that has an undersized 3-4 DE.

I think a game changing WDE would make SDE and the 3T much more productive. Right now no one really scares opposing OL groups maybe lawrence and maybe T-Craw but not enough to dedicate a lot of extra personnel.
