Just started watching this show a few weeks and it is every bit as good as people said.

For all of those who have seen Deadwood, who is your favorite character(s)?

I will go with Charlie Utter and E.B. Farnum.

It's hard not to like Al Swearingin(sp?).

For humor's sake I liked Jane for a time.

It seems most did a pretty good job in the show but I still think over all I liked Al and the actor playing him.

I like Al too

I only saw a couple episodes, but it was pretty good

a great character-driven show

Wait till you get into the 2nd or 3rd season and you see the interaction with Al and Woo. Those would have me rolling. It would pretty much come down to one word with neither being able to speak the other's language.

BP, I am in the middle of Season 2 right now.

Some very intense scenes in this series.

The episodes where Al got sick with Kidney Stones was intense. I probably would have told the Doctor to just kill me :laugh2: .

Al's character is pretty good but I don't think he carries the show.

One of my co-workers loves Calamity Jane and she is pretty funny.

That whole show was just packed with great performances.

Jane was hilarious... every scene with E.B. was just seething with self-loathing and resentment... Bullock and Al, especially together, were just such large characters.

Some under-rated guys I liked included A.W. Merrick, and, possibly the greatest character on the whole show: Richardson. Every scene with Richardson in it was a gold mine... no pun intended.

Al was tha man on Deadwood. I always liked Jane and EB's interactions. :laugh2:

The scenes between Al and Woo were classic. I used to keep a count on the C's and CS's. :laugh2:

Rome was great.

A real shame that it got canceled because it's was to expensive to make.

True Blood is great too.

I didn't like the way they ended it. The crammed two seasons in to one. It was too rushed.

They had planned on at least two more seasons...but found out I think either right before or right after the second season started to film that they were being canceled for budget reasons and then the writers had to scramble to cram all the stuff that happened into the one season.

That's why it was crammed.

The next season was supposed to be set in Egypt focused on Cleopatra and Marc Antony.
